In this episode of Wild Bearings Outdoors, we’re taking you to the Chattahoochee River in our home state of Georgia - it's better known as The Hooch! And it sources in Chattahoochee National Forest high up in the North Georgia mountains, feeds into Lake Lanier, then flows literally through Atlanta’s shadow, and eventually ends up in the Gulf of Mexico. The Hooch is only one of three tailwaters in the world that flows through a major city population of one million plus... Calgary, Canada’s Bow River and Munich, Germany’s Isar River.
We’ve invited our friend and national influencer Macy Watkins, (#macywatkins) to come fish with us. Macy is a graphic designer, marketer and mega social media influencer who specializes in the outdoor industry with an impressive client list such as #mossyoak, #Frabillfishing, and #Planotackle to name a few. Macy’s a true pioneer woman that’s an avid bass and fly fisher, but also spends a lot of time hunting.
So come along with us on this episode of WB Outdoors as we explore and fish the Chattahoochee River tailwater below Lake Lanier in north GA.

Man I'd give anything to see the hooch and fish for shoal bass before Lanier construction.

@@wildbearings I am planning to. Being in FL, while the fish are plentiful, it is IMO boring as hell. I grew up fishing streams but have not cast a line in several years.

@@gregjr63 I caught 1 nice keeper right off the batt and realized I forgot a stringer. Lol It happened so quick I figured I would let it go and get my stringer then catch more.. never had another bite lol

I fish that stretch often. I've had good success this summer with a stimulator/ bead head simulator.

Wow, thanks for tip on a PFD. Honestly, it's probably just a good idea fishing any big water - especially tailwaters. Also, I pity the fool that doesn't have a wading stick. I've never met a person who stopped using one. Macy, I loved what you said about leaving the water with regrets being what brings you back. That definitely resonate with me.
