Hi, I tie this fly on a larger hook, and I use a dark pink yarn for the underbelly and a strip of pink latex balloon for the main body working from the bend to the eye. Using yarn and strips of balloons keeps material costs down and produces the same results. This fly really works well in coloured water after a rain fall as the trout are use to seeing earth worms and grubs swept into the river from the farm paddock’s. It’s one of those flies that “if this don’t work I am going home” pattern flies that every angler needs when things get desperate! Harera...
