Nice little pattern! Thanks for sharing. Fifty years ago I fished with the McGuinty. I like this one a little more! Hugh do you think wasps will sting a fish in the mouth as it's being taken? Some people say hooks are cruel, but I'm pretty sure the nerve endings must be sparse because Wasps and Corixae can give a good sting of sorts once they are taken.
Really nice adapation. I might use this as a teaching fly - will be a killer with the bluegills and the wings are a little easier than quill wings of the McGinty. One thing I would consider adding is a tag of black ultra wire. I add them to my Bergman Beeman's and they look really nice, like a stinger.
