How do you afford to travel? - I now earn a full time living through creating these RU-vid videos, affiliate links, selling digital products and my clothing line. I used to simply just work any temporary job I could find to save up to travel! I budget the money I earn meticulously to reach my savings goals using www.backpackingbananas.com/pr...
Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

Been watching your adventures since your days in Colombia. My intent was to retire in Colombia or Mexico but I am looking at the Philippines more than ever. Mainly because a lot of people there speak English. I love your backpack series even though I’m an old man. It nice to know most restrictions have been lifted around the world other than the face mask for your first flight, even though good point it brings the beauty out in a persons eyes. Enjoy being back home and back in your bed! In a month I'll be flying to Europe from Aus for the first time for 5 months solo travelling! Never spent so long on a plane or so long away from home so it's going to be an amazing experience, but I'm sure I'll be thankful to get home and sleep in my own bed at the end! As a guy from Kuwait, and a first time solo traveller, and alsooo a little of an introvert 😂 I think solo travelling and meeting people is going to be a little scary, but also the most amazing experience! Going for Atlantis, Dubai this July! Very excited! I'm kind of facing fears of "not fitting in" but, I guess I just have to put myself out there 🚶‍♂️

🇨🇦Mom of 3, I've been following your journey for a few years (found you through Nadine's scratch off video). My husband and I literally just sold our house THIS WEEK and are planning to begin traveling and road schooling with our 3 kids (6,3,1) for as long as we can. You have been a HUGE inspiration in helping me go against the grain and get our family on the move! From minimalism inspiration (except this episode hahaha), budgeting, travel ideas, and just doing whatever you feel is right for YOUR life! Christianne I have one more question sorry, what's the best way to get a good exchange rate when you're taking only cash abroad? I know its not recommended but I just prefer cash, should I order cash online using my debit card or just take cash to a post office and exchange that way?

i'm going a month to Thailand, i want to rent scooters on the islands with my friends. We only have driving licences to drive a car. Can you hire a scooter if you haven't a scooter licence? And do you need a international driver license?

When you’re in the airport and if you don’t have the currency of that country can you use a credit card to pay for purchases. I am in the US so if I were to travel to Spain and we’re in the airport in Spain if I use my credit card I could pay for purchases correct?

That is correct! I would absolutely recommend getting a travel debit card though so you don’t incur big international fees that your traditional credit card would add on. Some to look into: Monzo, Revolut, Starling, N26, Chime

Putting your Britishness aside - do you reckon Australia is a better country to settle in? Or is life better in England/UK? Trying to weigh up pros and cons for each country and I’ve noticed many Brits love it there yet many end up returning after reality kicks in. Would love to hear your take on this and where you’d rather live//settle. Cheers

IMO Australia is better quality of life. I would return to England to be close to friends and family though. Also it’s not always straight forward visa-wise just to completely move to Australia forever which is possibly why many return 😅

i dont understand why it sucks to not have someone pick you up at the airport. i. would much rather take a ride share or taxi than burden someone with the logistics and time to pick me up at the airport and i thinks overall it is most cost effective

I normally have a friend or family member pick me up. I also do the same for them when they arrive home from long (or short) trips. I think it’s so nice! Airport reunions always feel special 🥰
