Haha sorry! We need the early starts to avoid the strong winds. Hope your dog wasn’t too upset 😬 thank you, fingers crossed we make it in a decent time! 😁
So sweet! I fly the Thor 202 as well. I saw the 4th part of this series and decided to watch all episodes. Suspenseful and great intro ~ I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the series. Thanks for the great posts. Cool accent as well.
@@rich_dolan thanks for asking. I am going to do a review of the 202 and the angel frame soon. The 202 is suited for long life, meaning, at any throttle position the motor's components strength are structured for a heavy duty durability. It basically feels like it will hold itself together materially so well because when at any throttle position the output doesn't resonate beyond frantic levels or reach an excessive effort of output--power production is smooth and able to be contained and sustained with durability. A motor I had that was a moster 185 basically felt like it's materials had less of a lifetime. The polini is more like a rotax in quality. I recommend the 202, although it might be too heavy for some. I launch at 7000 in eagle county so, I need more hp. I am curious if anyone has any thoughts about why paramotor pilots numbers have been so few compared to paraglider pilots, is it the actual motor itself--maintenance and care if broken? I would imagine that if you were a paraglider for a few years that the next step naturally is to get a motor. To me, it would mean a pilot would fly more often ~ I will likely make a video soon about how I began as a paraglider and invite that community to powered flight ~ Take care ~ let's talk more!
Absolutely frikn' AWESOME adventures ahead 😎👍. Love (manly hugs) to my mate Twitty 😃. You'll make your own luck ... you're gonna DO THIS 😉. Chocks away 👌
Hey , guy just seen this I'll have to watch your vids now , did a trip similar to this 10 yrs ago , oposite way ... What a great adventure 🙂 8250 km in 58 days , foot launch , supported. ,👍😎
From Townsville to North of Melbourne then over to Perth . I'll send you details it was 10 yrs ago ... Good luck , now I have some watching to do . I know your pains !! 👍🙂
Good luck guys. I will be checking on you every day. could you give some more info on your flight planning? like on what time of the day? what altitudes can you fly to avoid turbulence. I realize it is winter now in Australia. what kind of airspace are you going to fly in? things like that.
Hi dude! Thanks for the luck, we may need it! Timings, altitude and airspace will completely depend on where we are in the country. Most of Aus is G class and won’t effect us, the last bit into Byron there’s a lot more to navigate but it’s certainly possible. We’ll hopefully be flying from sunrise to sunset depending on weather and fatigue. I’ll be posting more videos as we go so will have more information about the flights in them 😊
Hi dude! I’ve got additional layers for flying and the sleeping kit will be uncomfortable but sufficient…I hope haha We’ve got water at drops and roadhouses along route to top up our supplies.
@@rich_dolan I realized afterwards that you were flying IFR - I Follow Roads.. when I look at an west - east crossings I am thinking you were going over Gibson and Simpson deserts. That’s the dirt biker in me planning!
Ohhhh loads! GPS track, witness logs, a flight log of each take off and a submitted route. Minimum distance of 5000km and flying over Steep Point and Byron Bay points.
Using a flymaster, Flyskyhy and inreach for tracking but the website just uses the inreach for live tracking. Will try and keep the videos coming as we go 👌🤞
