@@nonoyorbusness : Estuary? Estuary? I'll have you know; In my country we have proper rivers who know how to behave themselves. We leave our boats afloat and expect to find the so when we return, thank you very much. None of this mudlarking in Norway I can assure you. Good day!
Cool as I have been watching RU-vid videos on the full size ones after the design error on the original was corrected. There is a very nice looking side by side two seater composite available and the single seat microlight version looks and flies really well. I cant recall what the design “fix” but you should be able to Google that info. Thanks. Laurie. NZ. 😊
Great model John, I've thought about building a Flying Flea many times, but never managed it. I like your method of getting a reasonable CG location with the extended nose weight.
I moved about 2 hours drive from the old slope, so probably won’t ever go back there to fly. But my new house is fantastic. It’s twice the size of the old one and has a lovely river at the bottom of the garden. Have been doing lots of model boats, canoeing, fishing etc.
Mr Henri MIGNET would have much appreciated this model . Have you read his book? At the begining of the Pou du Ciel, several crashes occured, and the plane was grounded by Administration. So the Pou was sent to the French French Flight Test Center for evaluation, and investigations proved that design was safe for flying, but the instructions of designer Mr MIGNET were not correctly applied by some amateur builders. Anyhow, sincere congrats and cheers for your beautiful model.
The whole back wing moves as an elevator. But I was trying to fly with minimal elevator input as it seemed to have some really odd characteristics if you touched the controls.
Well done John! This Aircraft ( le Pou du ciel) was designed in the 1950's by Jean Lafarge a former French inventor. It never stalls like any conventional airplane so it was considered the safest of its type.Warning : @lbninja0 has brought light on my mistatake : "Sorry but le.pou du ciel is born by Henri Mignet in 1932 in France. You can find plan in his book “Le sport de l’air” published in 1934. The book is still available by the way".

Now how does that steer around? Does the top front wing move up and down? Didn't see any control surfaces. Didn't see anything in the description either. Please, you must explain or show some picture if possible, amazing light looking build as well. Thanks to both of you 👍💪✌
Hi john, that is wonderful, it looks like you modified and standard flea, are you aware there was a glider flea? it has a slightly longer nose that would mean you might not need the cg pole out front, I can email you the articles on the real Pou planuer if you don't have them already.
I wasn’t aware there was a glider version. I did think about lengthening the fuselage nose, but it was a laser cut kit so didn’t want to change the design too much.
I got it as a laser cut kit from the Romsey swap meet. It took quite a bit of experimenting to get it to fly okay. Even now it still has some odd habits.
John !! Could you recommend a glider for very small slope soaring, im talking an embankment or the likes.. Reason Im asking is because I got kicked off my local slope and theres no other one anywhere near me.. So I guess im regulated to psuedo slope flying..
Hi there Joe. The original kit had a motor mounted out above the nose. The fuselage is so short it was impossible to get enough weight inside to balance it. I simply mounted some lead weight on a pole out the front of the nose.
