It’s cultural- cabin crew will not go around and make jokes and chat without reason. It’s Asian and Mongolian thing- people are tired and travelling, do not disturb. If you ask - they reply

Service of the MIAT crew is one of the best I have ever encountered in international flights, specially compared to many European Airlines.

My sons and I loved the month we spent in Mongolia. We traveled there on the Trans Sib. Shame you didn’t get the opportunity to do a Gobi Desert trip. That was amazing and the nomads were super friendly and also loved the foodie gifts we gave. It’s such a beautiful country.

mongol culture is all about, dont bother others dont ask much, dont gain much and dont require much. very minimalistic nature of living

Hey Josh, thanks for the amazing feedback about the Mongolian Airlines crew. I'm a flight attendant trainee at MIAT and watching ur video has given me some valuable points that I can take note of and keep in mind once my turn to serve on a plane comes. Will definitely be more open to chatting to passengers and taking care of them as much as possible as you stated. It is more of a cultural thing in Mongolia and I think it's shown here even during flights 😅. But hey great video and thanks for the pointers. A Mongolian Airlines trainee from Mongolia.

Dear Josh, I got the feeling that its mostly about You, You and Yourself. More than half of that movie is You in the picture, and you interview yourself all of the time.

Mongolia is my favourite country that I've visited so far. The first time was back in 2016 when a friend and I took the trans-Siberian railway from Putinia and spent 5 days in and around Ulaanbaatar. The second time was for 9 days back in late June as a solo traveller (didn't fly MIAT though...KE via Incheon). The new airport is a huge improvement over Buyant Ukhaa, even if it is a bit basic for a capital city I hope you got to see a bit of UB and eat some good Mongolian food. DId you get to try khailmag? .

I have flown with MIAT two times back in 2016 from Moscow to Berlin and it was one of the best economy class flying experiences in my life. The service is very good and you even get mongolian beer in economy for free (at least back then). I really liked the plane as well (737NG), it was super clean and modern. If not for the rather inconvenient schedule (it went only on thursdays), I would have flown with them every time. It was definitely a much better experience than S7 for getting to Moscow.

Yes!! The debriefing reviews will be awesome. Hopefully, it will also put some pressure on airlines to respond after a review and not just brush things under the carpet

The air hostess's dress code is nice and decent as well. The hospitality welcoming wasn't good enough for countries like Russia, Mongolia and China, etc because it was their attitudes and culture that we couldn't expect more. One thing I liked the most was the airline's cleanliness and maintenance for a ten-year-old flight. Thank you, Josh at last you gave the real review in the toilet 😅

I flew Mongolian to Tokyo a few days ago! Honestly I was dead impressed - cabin was clean, crew was obliging and service was prompt. Only problem was the food, which was borderline inedible.

I believe that MIAT have applied to become an associate member of the One World alliance. Good to see them aiming high. Great review as ever Josh

Mongolian Airline from my experience was really good, tasty food, friendly team and cosy flight ✈️

Hey Josh, It was great to trying MIAT and traveling to UB, and reviewing it , I would like to let you know before filming just ask for permission to recording from servicing crew. Not a lot of Mongolian likes to filmed. I liked your video😊

Continental had this 2-1-2 business seating on its 767s until they were either retired or reconfigured to UA seating. Most carriers squeezed 2-2-2 on their 767s in the front cabins but AC and (when it existed) CP Air did variants of the five across: 2-2-1 and 1-2-2. I actually enjoyed the single seat on CO. And “Yes” to a flow up platform.

Please don't stop the loo review as a disabled flyer it helps me to decide what planes I could fly on! Thank you!

As a mongolian i agree we're shy people. And we talk yes and no just like that. But i don't know much about flight attendant's job qualification and language proficiency level etc.

Loo review is important as it tells much about the importance an airline pays to hygiene....I'd not trust their catering if their loos are a mess. Keep up your great reviews Josh!.

I was researching airline routes for a possible multi destination trip. One of the options that popped up on Orbitz, was a layover in Ulaanbataar to Seoul. I like to fly out of Frankfurt because it gives me an excuse to be in Germany, at least for a little while.

You arrived at Chinggis Khaan Airport, there is a large international airport in Hoshigtin Khondii, there are more international flights there than at Chinggis Khaan Airport.But it is located a little further from the capital.

Hi Josh, thanks for the great videos. Just wanted to say that if the cabin crew were not engaged during the flight as u said. A very good reason would be the camera, as flight attendents have not signed to be on camera and publicly shared videos and may not be comfortable to do that and hence, it does not seem really accurate to form a review on the crew while on camera. I've seen them on the background with couple of passengers smiling and everything.

Generally,liked ur description of ur flight. Everything has a detailed observation. Usually,I used to fly by the Turkish airlines making Istanbul as a transit place: 3 times ,flying up to Qatar then to France and Germany. BoA (Boliviana de Aviación) also flies a 767 with 2-1-2 configuration in business class. You can fly them Madrid-Cochabamba-Santa Cruz de la Sierra (no stop in Cochabamba in the other direction --- CBB is too high up in the Andes mountains for a direct long-haul takeoff). Also Miami-Santa Cruz, but I know you can't do that flight.

Very good video, really enjoyed seeing the airline and a glimpse of the city and country through your eyes. While I know this business class seat on Mongolia Airlines is not up to date by today's standards, I'm reminded how much room that type of seat actually provides. I was lucky enough to fly business class on a handful of trips back around 2005-2008 when that kind of seat was the standard. That seat is enough for me to feel like I'm flying long haul very comfortably. The newer features today seem very nice (and I'd probably get used to them quickly), but they still seem like bells & whistles.

Love your videos. Have you thought about creating a scoring system (maybe 1-10) for various aspects of your experience? One being awful, 10 being excellent. Could score various aspects of the experience such as departing airport, gate experience, cabin service, plane cleanliness and upkeep, food quality, loo quality, and debarkation experience.

Keep doing your loo reviews, I have travelled about 20 times over the last 2 years and never been in an airplane loo. I just have a phobia. I would also love for you to review the 'NEW' Cyprus airways.

Hey Josh, I hope you can review Batik Air sometime if you do another Asia tour. More specifically, about its depressing state. It's alarming that their service is pretty much below Citilink when it's supposed to compete with Garuda Indonesia (based on others' short reviews and my own personal experience with them on my last flight from Jakarta to Singapore.)

Yes, I think a debriefing would be very interesting to add to your videos or a compilation of debriefs after a month or so of posting videos. If the airlines you fly on have the response they have with you (Iran Air) and you have a large following. Just think what they might do with the average consumer that isn't followed on social media or has any status at all. I feel a lot of people would very much like to know what they might be getting into on those carriers. It's definitely a good idea!!
