This video is NOT for instructional purposes, purely entertainment. Please consult a Certified Flight Instructor.
This is a typical load in the Twin Otter, all the flows and checklists are laid out. This was not the first flight of the day so the engine run-ups are not included.

Your professionalism would be even visible at the darkest night. Pleasure to watch. Always happy landings. Greetings from a glider pilot.

Seems like that jobs has lots of ups and downs. lol. That’s for sharing. I didn’t realize the twin otter had a tiller.

Beautiful plane! Trying to learn the basics of how to fly it in Xplane 12. It's crazy how you have to use each engine to turn when moving slowly on the water. You can see this quite well at the end of this video as the pilot ramps up the left prop to initiate that sharp turn to the right.

Gotta ask. Why props min on decent instead of max? Wouldn't max rpm work more as an aerodynamic brake?
@SkydivePilot69
@SkydivePilot69 4 месяца назад
You’re correct. We reduce the props for noise abatement, it’s a company procedure. Props max will take about a minute off the total flight time.

wouldn't you descend faster with the proprs full forward? or are you trying to keep the noise down
@Breenild
@Breenild 4 месяца назад
That's true, but I guess, 3500ft/min is enough for the ears 😂

What kind of time do you need to get on flying the Otter? Like 1000 total?
@SkydivePilot69
@SkydivePilot69 4 месяца назад
Most insurance want 1000 TT with 25 in type.

Shouldn't you also wear a parachute in a skydivers plane? In some countries is this required.
@SkydivePilot69
@SkydivePilot69 4 месяца назад
It is not required in the Twin Otter, because there is a bulkhead separating the pilot from the rest of the cabin.

Thought everyone had to wear a rig during jump operations?
@SkydivePilot69
@SkydivePilot69 4 месяца назад
Not in the Twin Otter, because there is a bulkhead separating the pilot from the rest of the cabin, the FAA doesn't require it as part of the STC.

Jumpers away!! My best time is when the fun jumpers want up at 12,500 to 13,000
