My God. This truly is an epic account of just how difficult and complicated and dangerous it was in that war. It was tragic hearing about the lost crew, and also realising that sometimes you don’t know how much you know and have to pass that on to keep people alive.

Thanks, TF. I loved every minute of my time talking to Pyro and Super. I am so pleased we managed to get some of the EF story down on tape.

Truly I believe this is the best interview I’ve heard regarding electronic warfare. Incredible work, thank you.

I was stationed at Mt Home AFB, ID with the 390th ECS, from 1985-1988. Lt Col William Teske was our Squadron Commander. This was a great assignment, as I was in the admin office and was able to go on several TDY’s in support of the mission. The RAVEN was a great platform. Thanks for these videos, as they brought back fond memories.

These guys are great. Love the interview! My GW experience comes from Dhahran AB just after the end of hostilities. Holloman F-15 A/B’s replaced the Langley F-15 C/D’s in the CAP mission. The oil well fires were still raging at the time. The sun would set at around 5:00PM into the haze. We were living at Khobar Towers (before the bombing). The soot from the fires was so bad, even at altitude, our jets were looking like the kids from Oliver! We began washing our aircraft with the only available water at the time, which was semi-desalinated water from the hydrants. Stupid decision by knuckleheads just trying to follow wash schedules. Anyway, a few years later, I returned to the SW of SA with the black jets at Khamis Mushait. Not too far from Taif, I believe. I remember stopping there, briefly and seeing the U2’s, but can’t remember the circumstances. I don’t recall any EF-111’s.

There were EF-111's at Dhahran spring 1994. I was there March - April time frame.

An excellent follow-up men. Many thanks to you three.. Such sustained professionalism of the highest order. Crazy, to me, that requests from men, at war, in the cock-pits of EF111's for improving the over-all efficiency/life expectancy of men and machine were'n't matched at higher level. If, for instance, the cock-pit electronics of a Formula 1 car required adjustment, or replacement, in order to optimise efficiency, at a driver's behest, and management informed him to, "Train harder"...........the response might possibly ' set precedent'. To misappropriate fighter pilots in F15's, during war, and using them as 'minders'? ;sounds a tad SNAFU, as 'they say'. I've just finished Kluso's book. He said similar. I am learning so much from your channel each and every episode. ' Time flies!' It's brilliant in my op. Managed to buy one of the last copies of P Metz' YF23 book from 'A' : damn lucky there!. Cheers for the 'heads-up' Steve.

Another excellent episode Steve - thank you, very much for putting out such really interesting content. I am 'late to the party' having only discovered your channel (RU-vid and podcast) a few months ago so I've got lots to catch up on which is great! These EF-111 episodes are absolutely brilliant, with a lot of fascinating(open) technical info, aircraft and personal stories and insights. Thank you very much for producing such great content.
