This is a ultralight helicopter no pilots license is needed (if you're in the United States no its not a sovereign citizen bs thing it's just actually legal) but it'll set you back 20-60k there's also single rotor ultralights which are fixed wings so an airplane you don't need any training or anything you're technically allowed to just hop in and go if you own one
www.faa.gov/faq/do-i-need-pilot-license-certificate-fly-ultralights#:~:text=No%2C%20you%20do%20not%20need,rules%20in%2014%20CFR%20103. And here's where the FFA on their .gov website is legal I'm going to invest in one soon
@@hunterlepageIt’s a Robinson R22. Technically they’re considered ultralights… But the guy is wrong. In the USA, you need meet the requirements for SFAR 73 to operate a Robinson R22. And they’re more like $100k - $400k, not $20k - $60k.
Please be careful next time you do this! Little low-tide islands can be wetter than you think, and the ground can act like quicksand at times. Keep up the good content!
Well I mean technically does. Sure gotta wait for it to all start up but soon as it’s ready ur off the ground when you pull up. Ya I saw the break in the vid
Yes, if you don't do the checks. I am a student for the ultralight aircraft licence and i can tell you that no pilot will ever take off without security checks. And that can take up to 15 minutes with a ultralight aircraft. I think that helicopters need also a 15 minutes for ghe security checks. Once you're in the air you can't just pull over and check what's wrong, you know?
You’re much braver than I am, I’ve been in a helicopter twice and I was nervous. Anything else fast cars, bikes ,boats even skydiving or bungee jumping no problem. Helicopters just freak me out for some reason! Enjoy it tho Man U earned it
Imagine something malfunctions in that helicopter and you get stuck on that island💀 Edit: Everyone in the comment section: "Oh he can swim you dummy🤓" Y'all are saying this like it's not rlly a big deal to swim a km or two in the cold sea water. Beware of hypothermia. And i dont think phone services are going to be available on that Island as well
@colin1927 yea I know it is and i know you are fine. Just as a fellow R22 guy for whatever reason I just like knowing blades aren't moving before I exit the aircraft
@@FanjitaUK2k8we always leave the collision light on when the rotor is turning. But I agree as an r22 pilot myself it feels very strange to see someone leave it with the rotor turning. Of course it’s barely turning but feels strange.
@@fibonacho I honestly have no idea how much a helicopter like this would cost. I assume if you factor in licence and training the cost would be up there!
I fucking love helicopters but I find them so terrifying. At least in a plane you have some sort of control and slowing system on the way down. Helicopters? Yeah, that shits a falling metal box.
