Join me on an extraordinary journey. I finally got the chance to fly across the Mediterranean sea from the breathtaking Alpine heights of Aosta, Italy, to the stunning Mediterranean vistas of Corsica and then back to Alessandria, all without the aid of an engine.

Wow! A few days ago I came across a wave flight along Adriatic coast from Slovenia almost to Albania and back, also 1000km and now this! Such a distance over the sea in the glider. It requires a great knowledge, confidence and a great set of balls. Congrats!

Wow this is absolutely insane. Would you mind making an explaination video about the weather forecasting you did and the size of these waves and how large they get? I'm a paragliding pilot but can't really wrap my head around this phenomena and how you predicted it. Thanks for sharing this!

I have flown in gliders in the UK but never thought that this was possible. I have lived and worked in Switzerland and travelled all over Europe and the terrain of the alps is truly inspiring but to fly over them in an unpowered plane is incredible. Well done!!!!

Nice long flight :-) A modern glider with a high glide ration like 1:50 can travel really far away, like 200 kilometer from 4.000 meter. But it just need a small engine, and like 50-100 liter of fuel

Congratulations Yves! Great flight. Just a few years ago I would never have thought of the possibility of flights like these. I like the wave and fly from Turin and Aosta, but never such complicated flights. The road opened by Claus and Batpiste and you will hold many surprises for us.

Beautiful views, thanks for sharing. I flew (as a passenger) from London to Calvi in July 23 and the flight path was diverted over Germany, Switzerland and Italy and the approach to Corsica was very similar.

Glückwunsch, das ist aber eine reife Leistung. Das hätte ich mir als einer, der fast 40 Jahre Kestrel fliegt nicht zugetraut. Weiß man denn, wie stark das Fallen überm Meer ist oder war das ein Experiment?
