I also bought a Chinese tourbillon - the Sugess Tourbillon Master SU8230STRC - and am very happy with it. Little did I know, though, that tourbillons on wrist watches make them actually less precise than regular watches, as they use a lot of power from the main spring. This somehow defeats their purpose.
Chag Sameach Jory - wishing you and fam a happy and healthy new year. The way you were pronouncing “Locer” has made me realise that it was probably named to sound remotely like “H Moser”! I had been saying it as “Locker” so you’re probably correct. A few more watches I’d rather put a grand towards, even in the Kickstarter territory. But if someone is desperate for a Tourbillon for their collection, this could be a good entryway assuming the QC risks of Chinese made is tolerable. Great review and editing!
Where'd you buy the watch from? Their website or aliexpress? I keep trying to find more reviews on the watch but they all seem fake or paid for.. Would I be able to reach out personally and ask a couple more questions? 👍
His daily vids weren't taking off. He was trying it out, and it didn't get results. That's my understanding at least. We're getting actual reviews instead of daily shitting on Hodinkee so that's nice (as fun as those were for a while lol).
OMG stop saying that you can't go under water with a 50 meter rated watch (that's 150 feet below the surface!). It doesn't matter if the pressure testing is done in a watch shop, using pressurized air (instead of water). If it's rated 50 meters, you can jump into a swimming pool, lake, etc. while wearing it. Just make sure that the crown is pushed in.
The problem with cut-price complicated movements is that they will surely be very expensive to service or repair “when” they go wrong. Everything is done to a budget and sone of the movements are quite unique so not market-tested hence I suspect the prospect for unreliability is real. Spending $1k plus to service your sub k watch seems very silly to me, not to mention throwing all that money into a pit which will swallow up your hard-earned over the years never to be seen again as this type of watch is practically worthless once purchased. You might as well take your money and throw it into a fire.
Are there hands on that watch - are they there, or are those bits of skeleton, or is it just totally illegible, I’m not sure 🤔😂 Nice tourbillon, nice bit of wrist art though.
Can you tell us more about the watch you got your wife’s boyfriend ? He seemed unhappy with the watch you got him is the video you made. I thought it was nice. If he doesn’t want it, I’ll take it. Don’t let him talk to you like that. I know she’s happy but you need to be happy to. Stop doing all the cooking and cleaning for tyrone.
Chinese brand, naming their movement very similar to a Rolex caliber, saying "Inspired by Swiss Quality" on their website? Seems like the Chinese are doing their homework, just as expected.
