She has a perfect voice. I don't understand where these haters are coming from. All Around Me by far my favorite Flyleaf song, and she does a pretty incredible job singing it. People should give her both a break and a chance. She's not going anywhere.
I love how she interacts with the audience so much! And her voice is awesome! ... And her outfit... And her hair... I LOVE THESE SONGS TOO! GO FLYLEAF!
Oh for god's sakes people. Kristen is a trained singer, and Lacey wasn't. Do any of you realise how counter-intuitive it is for a trained singer to scream like Lacey did?
People need to hush with the "she can't scream" crap. She's not Lacey. That was Lacey's style although it only appeared in a handful of songs with Flyleaf... Not all of them were like that. Get over it and move on. P.S. Kristen growls.. So..
Lacey had a unique voice and I miss her but Kristen is a awesome singer , the energy she brings to the band actually makes me prefer Flyleaf with Kristen ......
My opinion on Kristen hasn't changed much, maybe a bit but positively. I honestly think she's much better at singing live than Lacey's ever been, she had problems with vocal health. However, Kristen still has more of a pop country vibe with her voice and Lacey's definitely a rock singer, which I miss hearing on Flyleaf's records. Kristen's screams here are much better than when I first heard them back in 2014 (yes I know Pat's screaming some of them, too). I know she's trained, so I know she can also learn how to scream properly without damaging her voice. I'm still keeping my eye out for more Flyleaf with Kristen and more of Lacey's solo projects
I will Always Love Lacey.... but I gotta admit... this woman can SING! melodic, controlled and Powerful! the Band sound better too, closer to the recording.. which is good.
I absolutely adore Flyleaf; both Kristen and Lacey have such brilliant voices, and combined with the amazing talent of the other members, it creates an awesome band. But I'd say it's unfair to compare the two vocalists because they're very different. Lacey has a more grungy, edgey voice and Kristen has a more smooth voice. But that doesn't mean I don't love them both!! :D Most people dislike that they still play old material that Lacey sang but to be fair to Kristen, she does an amazing job here! Both vocalists brought something to the band I can't wait to see how the band continues to grow. The albums written with Laceys vocals are my favourite, but Between The Stars is an amazing album aswell :3
I've always loved flyleaf, and love lacey... However, I do think lacey lacked pitch (she was always flat in her high notes, live) and stage presence in comparison to Kristen. Both of them are great in the band, and are different singers. Screaming is a skill that is acquired; pitch, breathing correctly and moving at the same time is a lot harder to master. Perhaps it's kristens choice not to imitate lacey.
Great performance again from the talented Kristen and the guys from. I missed out on taking my five year old Amelia when they came through for the Australian run mid last year. Still can't believe you all seem so hung up with Lacey still. Embrace , Enjoy All good things come to an end , plus you all have so many more opportunities than we do here down under to catch these shredding bands.
I have to say even without Lacey they haven't changed a bit.Kristen fits with them well.She impressed me with her screamed vocals too (Being from Vedera,a Indie/Art Rock Band) I love her a lot now.
Great performance. Don't listen to these guys much, but I found this to be solid. And Kristen's voice is fairly similar to Lacey's which helps make the songs Lacey did feel familiar. But Kristen's probably a better singer, in my opinion. She carries her notes rather well.
OMG!............ She screamed!..... whatha fuck she finally did it!.... i love her so much for this!... now she actually filled the boots of lacey! Beautiful voice plus screaming now thats orgasmic
we're still trying to move on from lacey leaving the band, so don't expect everyone to just accept this kind of version that we all know is far from what it's meant to sound like. the whole band wrote the song, we all know that. they can give it to whoever they want, but just make sure that it can be given justice.
i am sick of searching flyleaf and finding this bullshit. 2 out of 5 members left. one being the voice of the band. change the name. as you are no longer flyleaf. this girl should make her own music instead of trying to sing laceys songs. yes laceys songs bc its her voice that made them emotional and complex. this why this girl kristen gets negative feedback.
I have read a lot about the band, and I've come to understand that when someone says "it's not Flyleaf without Lacey", what they are really saying is that they don't think Kristen is "Christian enough". Whatever that means. Then often they'll say some really mean and hurtful things. In my book, that's not very Christian. Kristen reads these comments. Can you imagine how it must feel? Lacey left the band. Unlike many of her fans, she had the maturity and grace to let her friends, the band, continue without her. They worked their asses off to get this far. They deserve this. Can you imagine how it feels? They can't make a Facebook post without someone mentioning how much they like Lacey better. Kristen is a fantastic singer, she can do some things that Lacey couldn't. If you can't stand hearing Flyleaf without Lacey, then don't. But don't ruin it for everyone else.
TheRealConcertKing I so totally agree with you I was watching "set me on fire" earlier today and read the comments and was just annoyed, With how much people cant accept that lacey is gone. I only started listening to this band this year but i really love all the old songs and the new ones are great aswell. Its nice to know there are still people out there who are on the same level.
I'll say one thing for her, she is a better live singer than Lacey. I found Lacey to be out of tune at times singing this song. Look at old RU-vid videos for proof. Still, I do prefer Lacey's voice on the recorded Flyleaf tracks.
