Bought the diy kit and although I got it up and running it was a nightmare. No instructions whatsoever, my screen doesn’t work anymore, and the fan broke like immediately. 100% just buy the finished thing done already , only reason I did diy is cause I don’t use my hero 9 at all anymore so I thought it would be good to naked it and use it on my cinelog 20 instead of paying 400-500$ for another go pro(I woulda got an 11/12 for 10bit color). All that being said it still works. It’s not always smoothly cause with no back or front screen , connecting to the phone ALL the time just to see anything is annoying and sometimes fails. I love the build of this though, I’ve crashed with it and it still works with no damage to the housing at all.
Wow! As I am new to fpv it is good to see the differences in cameras, I am surprised the dji cam seems to me, to have a better image. Thanks Mads, I enjoy your tear downs and tech talk, and I find you are entertaining also. Cheers 🍻
Yeah for the point and shoot crowd either is fine, but if you get more serious about betting the most out of the cameras, you'll soon see the advantage of gopro, even with it's disadvantages
I love my naked Hero 6 that I decased myself but the refinement on this kit is leaps and bounds ahead of the mod I did, especially with the screen mod via USB-C.
Really nice. Bit of a shame that it's so heavy - my naked GP8 weighs only about half and that really counts on sub 250s. Much sturdier with the metal of course.
@@chrisbee5481 First of all, as explained in the video, part of the reason to use a second camera is that you can have flying settings on the FPV camera and recording settings on the other. Secondly, we're not even 100% sure there will be an O4. Manufacturers do unexpected junk all the time. Thirdly, even if the O4 does come out, it 1) might be heavier than the O3, cutting into its advantage over this, and 2) the GoPro 13 might also be out again supplanting the Air Unit for quality.
@MadRC A few people are asking for an instruction video. Flywoo actually made one but it's not listed publicly on their youtube for some reason. I don't believe I can post a youtube link here, but I can send it to you if you'd like to share it.
I bought the Flywoo GoPro 11 DIY kit. Although I've completed the build, it wasn't without difficulty, as Flywoo provides very little instruction. They link a video which is years old for their old kit, which wasn't helpful at all. The DIY kit would be great if there were proper instructions on dissasembling the GoPro in detail, including instructions for assembing their kit. Because of this, it took me many hours to build the DIY kit than it should have. Having said that, I actually do like how the end product looks, and its a third of the original GoPro weight
Most people find out they aren’t as capable as they thought in a hard way, that’s why you pay competent people to do the job, if it’s supposed to be easy then no one will pay for the BNF version.
Bought the Naked gopro 11 v2, screen failed after only a couple uses. Paid 40$ to send tiny box back to china for refurb after 2 MONTHS of email exchanges. They then said they fixed it and charged me $10 to send it back to us! Got it back and the screen failed immediately....AGAIN! I told them about it and they tried to charge me for a new bec board to fix it myself after they clearly wasted $50 of my dollars. They did back down after my disputes and sent a bec board. Then the cables that go from lipo battery to the camera failed me, they are very fragile and are impossible to find anywhere. So here i am without a go pro again. Total waste of money and time. DO NOT BUY FLYWOO - BUYER BEWARE.
Imagine wanting a cull CNC aluminium body naked GoPro that spent time and resources for RnD to retain the exact same function but only with 1/3 weight, just admit you are too broke and not their target audience also a subpar pilot that crash every pack lol, just stick to analog quads they are cheap with potatoe camera with low latency.
@@Thekidisalright You sound like a trash person. I literally said the safe use of it. If you are half decent and fly freestyle you crash. Tap that thing on a skirting board and it's dead. 500usd gone.
