Welcome to episode 2 of my FM24 Saving Southend story. We begin our one club story with Southend United in non-league. We have a points deduction, transfer embargo and a threadbare squad, but can we stay up in our first season before heading on a road to glory? In episode 2, we play our first National League games in charge of Southend United against Oldham Athletic + Dagenham & Redbridge. We also talk board takeover news, as we try to make up some of our 10 point deficit!

Oldham was my FM 23 save. Took them all the way to the Prem! So I had some mix feelings about this one Lol Loving the save, keep it up!

Reckon you will stay up easily especially with signings in January but with that small squad and midweek games will make it challenging before then

Completely agree. It's all about survival first season, which we should still achieve. Let's hope we close the gap before the signings arrive! 👍

As you said, getting the points on board in the home games and the single game weeks is going to be key. I think you'll be able to stay up, depending on injuries of course. This series is going to be fun. As for the chairperson situation, I think it'd be resolved in the full release. One of the things you'll see when starting in beta, but it's just a minor inconvenience I'd say haha

Yeah and in fairness to them it's still a bit uncertain IRL. I'm confident we'll stay up if we can get the best XI out at least 20 times this season. It's all about survival initially. 🤞

Like you said you need to get through the midweek games. I feel like this team can survive and even be mid table

I would agree with that. It'll be a frustrating year at times as we won't be able to attack every game, but it's all about survival! 👍

I think once the transfer embargo is over and you can get players in. A relation battle won't really be an issues

Think you need to rotate and pick greyed out players etc. Will probably be worse in the long run to not rotate.

We've got a few youth players that will have to be off the bench a lot. The plan is to try and give players 20-30 minutes rest when games are already won and lost. 👍
