I haven't finished dialing the tuning in on the Stic yet. I'll be receiving a couple of different needle jets for it any day now and will continue tuning once they arrive. Once it's set up and running well I'll do a full review video...
I love your videos. I have the same bike in the US. I bought the gnarly pipe after damaging the original. It does have more bottom end but the bike is noticeably slower at rising through the RPM's. Once you get it on top, it runs just fine. I decided to switch to the fatty pipe and am much happier. It now revs up faster and has the excitement a 250 should have. Just my opinion...
I rode with the Gnarly today. It adds quite a bit of bottom end. I didn't find it slow to rev out. On the top I thought it was very similar to the Fatty which I was using before. I really like it. But there are a lot of different variables (carb, jetting, reeds, power valve spring) which unless exactly the same could cause observed differences on two bikes...
Too funny, I'm literally ordering one of these today for my 250. Thanks for sharing. I'm curious if you'll need to make any adjustments to your jetting/air screw as a result of the new pipe? Speaking of which, I have a video request :). Could you do a video on dialing in your air screw with the Kiehin and your 250? There are a few videos online outlining how to do this, but they're terrible. Your instructional videos are hands down the best on the net. Would love your insight on how to get the carb running perfectly using the air screw (assuming the jetting is correct of course). Just some food for thought :).
I'm curious for the results. I had a gnarly on my 2008 KTM 200 and the bottom end was great but it lacked the top end. I put the stocker on and I felt it barely lost any bottom end but gained the top end. So I'll be waiting for your results.
I rode today with the Gnarly. It adds a decent amount of bottom end and I didn't really notice any difference in the top end. Really like it. It's a keeper...
Typically the FMF pipes have the same header size as stock so they are compatible with stock silencers. However, I don't have any experience with the 2012 model though so probably best to send FMF a message to double check.
@@stephdage792 no no no there are 2 diffrent gnarly pipes and fatty is not one of them but not many people knows this :) There is one gnarly called sand and one gnarly called woods.
Milos Zivkovic - Compared to the stock pipe the shape is different. It has better clearance from the ground and is a little less likely to get damaged during crashes
Hope you don't mind an add on to this as what's written above is correct . This applies to large dents however. If you think of it like this, the exhaust for a two stroke is an Expansion chamber. Alter the shape of the chamber in a certain place and it affects the volumes flow design so the gas and shock waves from combustion behave differently , makes it less efficient so can alter performance.
