Hi Rob, I started a scrappy quilt a few years ago and it has been in my pile of Things to do for ages. I couldn't decide how to quilt it. I started hand quilting, but didn't like it and unpicked it. Then I quilted in the ditch, but it wasn't really what I wanted either. During these weeks of lockdown I watched your tutorials on FMQ and decided to have a go at the Daisy chain. I practiced a bit then took the plunge and...ta-da! It's done! For the first time I felt like I was in control of the design and the machine. Amazing! I've just got the handstitching on the binding to do! Thank you for giving me the confidence to have a go. It's not perfect, but it's finished and I love it!!

These videos are great-- They help to reinforce skills I have taken in a class or give me courage to try something new. My husband was even watching over my shoulder! :) Thanks Rob for making this fun and easy!

Hi I love your videos, I’ve only done one quilt ever, free-motion because I don’t have a walking foot. It was difficult on sewing the binding. At my age that’s an achievement.

This would be a great design on a doll quilt. I am using Ruby's idea of a bed for 18" dolls and of course making the bedskirt and quilt for my 2 granddaughters.

Hi Rob! Great tutorial! This is the type of design you can use to bang out a quilt quickly on a domestic machine, with a really cute pattern that doesn't require perfection. I also like the comments about making the size of the motif fit the space. This design will give folks the courage to try. Awesome job!

Thanks, Rob for showing us what appears to be a more simple free motion design. I hope you can teach this old lady some new tricks. I've just taken up quilting and have my first table topper ready for quilting. I've still got a lot of FM practicing to do before I attempt anything other than my sample sandwiches.

Great tutorial, keep it up! Perfect timing, was doodling this same idea. Since watching FMQ tutorials I have begun to believe that your WHOLE ARMS are included in the process and that's why we need to practice on paper before starting, just my thoughts on it, it is more than just drawing.

I'd really love to see tutorials on all over patterns that are fairly simple - like the chrysanthemum or a huge spiral with a walking foot. I find I stipple a lot of my quilts because I don't feel ready to attempt anything complex yet but do want to learn some new patterns! :)

I get so worked up when I fmq.. I know I don't need to stress and it usually looks good in the end, it's just because I feel I'm a Rockstar piecer.. but terrible quilter! i keep pleating the back or sewing the corner to the middle!! lol.. it's funny but not at the time! I WILL learn it! uhg!! thanks for the fun tutorials!

Love your FMQ demonstrations! You are a great teacher. Yes, an overall (easy) design would be very helpful. Suggestions on how to 'space' the designs would be appreciated....I tend to start out with the design large and gradually I shrink the design. I think my quilts are somewhat 'stiff' due to the 'close' quilting. I think they will soften with usage (hope), but, what can I do to maintain consistent spatial design? You are great!

Rob why don't you do a 10X13 (or u pick a size) series of Free Motion fabric books. Sandwich them like you would make a quilt. Then Free Motion your design on each block 10X13. Add three eyelets like a note book. I've been wanting to make this project for a long time now. You could even teach binding if you wanted. The ones I've seen don't have binding. Opt. It's just a Free Motion notebook to show clients your designs and for them to pick from when you are making a quilt or a bag for them. OR for yourself to audition the Free Motion design for your quilt you've made. Rob I hope this makes since. The nicest ones I've seen is on National Quilt Circle showed by Heather Thomas

hi Rob, I love your show. I'm new at quilting only been at it for a year. I watched the show with your daughter. She was making a doll bed and you had a guide edge. Helps to keep the famous 1/4 inch. where did you get that. Love the free motion.

I'm late to the party... just finding your amazing videos now. I LOVE your "man sampler"! I can only see bits of it in each of the videos but what I can see makes me believe it is a great sampler with not so "girly" squares. Do you offer the pattern somewhere?

hey rob. i'm learning and don't know who else i can ask about this. i am doing a serpentine stitch along the strip lines of my jelly roll race quilt. i've gotten little wrinkles in my backing fabric caught in my quilting lines. i am using basting spray and thought i was keeping the fabric taut. 1-what can i do to fix the little tucks in the back? and 2-how can i prevent this? i'm using a walking foot and attempting to keep the fabric feeding smoothly. help!! ❤️

Hi Rob great vid, as usual. What type of foot are you using? I usually use a walking foot but its hard to see. I saw a vid on another channel recently and they said we could quilt with NO foot on our machine. Whats your opinion on that?

Machine quilting is like hand quilting in which you do a little warm up on a scrap piece before working on the actual project.
