In pt 1 I discuss why the upgrade and show test results from my Futura that sparked this mod and show base numbers from the Tomcat. Time lapse the build and we are off!
I’m installing same setup, I ran into the FMS fans (shroud or cone) not lining up the same a factory setup. Do you have any tips on how you solved this?
When I put the fan where the front of the fan is in the groove the screw holes don’t line up and it seems slightly larger because cover does not sit flush…. I was just wondering if you had to do any sanding or cutting of foam to get it to fit
The key to flying the freewing F-14 is throttle management. You will burn up your battery fast at full throttle, but the plane does not need full throttle to fly great. The airplane is more like a glider with the wings extended. After liftoff, I always reduce throttle right away to conserve energy. I only use the upper third of the throttle when maneuvering. The plane glides in with little to no power.
Thank you Brenden for sharing a great video. If you don't mind, where did you by the FMS and predator 100 amp ESC? I was looking at Castle Hobbies, $297.94. Is that a good price, thapnk you.
100 is more than enough. I have tortured this setup with combined hundreds of flights in multiple aircraft with no issues. About to put it in another one
@@JustPlaneCrazy I have an idea from watching you put in the 80mm inrunner that it wouldn't be too difficult to put in a 90mm inrunner. Do you think it's possible by just 'cutting out more of where the motor will sit??? Thanks again!!!
You would have FSA issues. Not enough airflow in vs out to make thrust. Right now I believe the setup starves just slightly until it’s flying and forcing air in
