I think the adult actors were great representations of how people change after a long time of marriage. You can see here that Taek and Deok-sun here are very relaxed and kind of bicker as an old couple, much like their parents back in 1988. I don't doubt that their feelings changed from when they were young and in love in 1994, they just grew old. It's just nice to see a realistic portrayal of old married couples ♥️
I think they intentionally made old taek to be different from the shy, soft spoken young taek, so that we will be confused if deoksun ended up with junghwan hahaha

Although Taek's personality became just like Jung Hwan when they got old, there were little things about him that never changed, (1) when he tried to open the cookie tin but Deok Sun's reflex saw it and helped him while talking at the camera at the same time; (2) when Deok Sun bickered him for wearing thin clothes; (3) when he didn't like being interviewed; (4) when they held hands after seeing each other at the café; and so much more. I personally think the writers did it on purpose to confuse the audience as most of us thought it was Jung Hwan at first because of the way he talked plus his hair style, but little details about the future interview were revealed every now and then were so interesting, making us want to watch it more. Besides, it was Deok Sun who taught Taek curse words and how not to easily give in to other people when they were younger in the first place, so I had no doubts when Taek's personality became a carbon copy of hers after 30 years. If you'd say being straightforward, isn't Taek a straightforward person too? He admitted to his friends first, without hesitation, that he saw Deok Sun as a woman, even when he was jokingly teased that time. I have no issues with Jung Hwan-Deok Sun shippers because I'm a fan of real life Jun Ryeol-Hyeri couple myself; I just wanted to point out that the writers were very clear as to whom Deok Sun will end up marrying.

@@ianean682 I watched it. If I could remember, it's the 6th episode. It's not even the half of the entire series. Have you finished watching until the 20th? There are so many clues on the further episodes. Even the top comments on the video you suggested have the same sentiments as I did. If you haven't finished watching the entire drama, keep an open mind and decode all the clues, even up to every little detail a character acts/says. But if you ship JH with DS even after finishing, I don't have a problem with that.
Just finished the show last night. So here are my thoughts. Taek and Dokseun are one of the most adorable and unique couples in TV history. Jungwan and Dokseun could have made a great couple, but that would've been really cliche. I always rooted for Taek, even when the show tricked me to think Dokseun will end up with Jungwan. I just thought Taek deserved Dokseun in every way and Doksun deserved someone who is proudly and unapologetically fond of her. When I first started watching the show, Sunwoo became my instant favourite, cuz I really thought he'll be good for her, until I got to know he actually loved Bora. After Sunwoo rejected Doksun, I thought Jungwan will be the true love of Dokseun. To be honest, both Taek and Jung wan's love for Dokseun were as pure as it could get. A lot of people say that Jungwan was afraid of rejection. I really don't believe that. He clearly gave signals to Doeksun, like the gloves, the umbrella, and most importantly, telling her to wonder why he came all the way to the restaurant for her, asking her not to go on the blind date, visiting her at night, and going to the concert with her. The teen Jungwan was quite motivated to confess to Dokseun, UNTIL he came to know that Taek likes her too. So for the sake of his friendship with Taek, he refrained from confessing to Dk, and in fact acted cold towards her, to not raise her expectations at all. As for Taek, he was also determined to confess to her in 1989, although he too, did not go through with it because he noticed his friend Junghwan's feelings for Dokseun. The moral of the story is that both Taek and Jungwan cared for their friendship more than their infatuation at that time. They did not want to ruin their own friendship/ hurt each other over Dokseun. But their love for her were deep and pure. I can't really compare them. Jungwan expressed his love through small gestures, and Taek was more expressive verbally. But both of them supported and cared for Dokseun. After 6 years, when each of the boys noticed that the opposite person has not pursued Doekseun yet, they probably thought that the other person's feelings for Dokseun were over, and that is when both Taek and Jungwan FINALLY felt confident about making their move on Doekseun. Which is why both of them rushed to the cinema, to take their chance. It didn't really matter who reached the cinema faster. Because technically, Jungwan confessed to Dokseun earlier than Taek. It was Doeksun, who had to realise/determine whom she had feelings for. As for Doeksun, she always had a soft corner for Taek. And she loved the IDEA of Jungwan having a crush on her, just like any teenager. She just wanted to be loved. She had a crush on Jung wan for a short period of time only because she thought Jung wan might like her, and the same happened in case of Sung woo. But as they said in the show, it was more important who Doeksun liked. Doeksun loved Taek without even knowing if Taek had any feelings for her. So who was better for Doekseun? I can't really say. Doekseun could have had a really great chemistry with Jungwan, had she loved him. Because it was shown in the show that she clearly did not reciprocate to Jung wan's confession. Sometimes I wonder how their relationship would have turned out if they ever happened to be together. I kind of thought their relationship would be like Elizabeth and Darcy from pride and prejudice. But the truth is Doeksun, unconsciously, loved Taek, with all her heart. That's just destiny. Taek and Doeksun are just made for each other. You can see that Taek and Dokseun feel most comfortable when they are around each other. Taek needs and wants Doeksun. Doeksun always needed the feeling to be loved, and Taek always made sure she was his number 1 priority. Taek made her feel the most special. He never dared to hurt her feelings. He always treated Doeksun as a "woman, not a friend" ❤ And that is why, our Taek is worthy of being Doksun's husband. Taek and Dokseun are the definition of "we were still kids when we were so in love, not knowing what it was"❤ Honestly, if Dokseun ended up with Jungwan, I would've been happy too. But Dokseun CHOSE TAEK. She loves him and I support her choice. They were destined to be together. PS: as much as I believe Dokseun has a sizzling chemistry with Jungwan, I have been Team Taek all the way, from the beginning❤ He is my most favourite character in the show❤️ I love all the characters with all my heart. My other fav are Jungwan and his dad😍 And ofc Park bo gum is ❤️
I love that “we were still kids so in love, not knowing what it was.” DK clearly always made jokes about how Taek should grow up and marry her. How she preferred him over the other boys etc. I think their love languages compliment one another very well
I disagree that JungHwan "clearly" gave signals. Everytime he does something nice, he goes around and throws mean (but friendly) comments at her or shows that he is ashamed/annoyed of her quirks and playfulness. If he knows Dokseun at all, he would know she's not the sharpest tool in the shed so all those "signals" were never clear to her. He also knows that Dokseun was recently rejected by one of their close friends because she assumed incorrectly, and it was awkward between them from then on. He should know that Dokseun would be more careful making assumptions again especially with this closest friend group - this is also why she kept it a secret when Taek first kissed her. She needs direct confirmation of their feelings. JungHwan even had the advantage at some point because Dokseun was actively pursuing him but he did not reciprocate and always hesitated. She has always been the neglected and bullied middle child so is looking for actual love and appreciation, she occasionally sees that from JunHwan but they are inconsistent. Taek on the other hand was the only one in her life who was consistent with this. I was so annoyed when he confessed to her then said it was a prank - playing with her feelings like that! I just felt better knowing that at that point Dokseun no longer cares because she already realized she likes Taek. Up until the very end, I think it was never clear to Dokseun that JungHwan loved her. I think that is one of the main morals of this drama, it's don't leave love unspoken. Having also grown up in a conservative country, it is tricky because guys are not as direct and it would be imprudent for girls just assume that any act of kindness or chivalry is a "signal".
The older Taek kind of looks like a slimmer version of Taek’s dad. And I think it was mentioned in one of the later episodes that Taek’s dad looked a lot like him when he was younger.
Loved that the first shot of CT makes him lookbso young, feeble and childish, almost 13/14. And he grows literally as the episodes progress. Genius of the makers of this show!
I love Taek’s character development and how he became more open and kinda playful especially in the last episode I really wish to see more teasing from him before the finale episode
Just realized, its very crystal clear the husband is Taek on this episode when future Deokseon said "I saw it on TV at home". If the future husband is Jung Hwan, Deokseon s/b said "WE saw it on TV at YOUR home"
I was convinced it was Taek when they reveal the husband smokes and the moment she commented ‘it must be yout happiest day’ referring to the photo of them in China. Taek had always been the consistent guy and he never hesitate when it comes to DS. At first i thought why Taek is so different when he is older but then he said, he felt that he is too sensitive back then and he had now change. So it makes sense. But his shy habit is still there if u look closely tho
I started to realize the hints when I reach episode where Deoksun's adult version says her husband doesn't like interviews, and when I rewatched the whole drama I found a lot more hints, even Deoksun said that she wants Taek to marry her lol
Taek’s mischievous side is shown when he’s younger too like when he hits Sunwoo after reading DK’s diary entry. He likes doing mischievous things but quietly. And JH wished that Taek would become a jerk so there’s something there hinting at how Taek’s personality changes a bit in the future. Or maybe not changes, but he matures more into himself. The personality change in Taek is also hinted at when his father says he hopes Taek will grow up and be able to express himself more freely and say when he’s upset. We see that wish also comes true in the dating scenes where Taek clearly tells DK that he doesn’t like her drinking and being in the karaoke party. Younger Taek might’ve never said that.

his dad also smokes. when his wife died, he was depressed and keep drinking and smoking until Sunwoo's mom convinced him to move to seoul. It was shown on episode 9 when Taek's dad was in the hospital and Sunwoo's mom took care of him.
They could've made older Taek still soft spoken and all because even Junghwan and Sunwoo are like that. They act prim and proper. so I think changing future Taek is not necessary, it just made Taek not look appealing in the long run imo. Also considering they have been friends since their childhood, Taek didn't change even when he's a young adult.
he did change when he was a young adult too? just observe him from episode one until episode 17 and then taek in 1994. i really don't understand this criticism a lot of people have. it's normal to change with aging and maturing. even deok-sun and bo-ra seem different.

@@hayde3420 taek lived with deoksun for 20 years. Surely her personality wouldve rubbed off on him. And taek acts differently and more comfortably around her even when they were younger
I dont think he resembles older Junghwan too. Junghwan or Taek, they wont act like that. Remember, Junghwan became a military officer and even before that he's a quiet person. Taek should've been like his father but maybe more lively since he has Deoksun. I love the drama but I dont agree on how the writers made the older characters. It just didn't make any sense imo.
Unpopular opinion, but I felt that Taek’s character was changed to its core in the later part (interview). Though it’s natural to inherent certain behavioural changes as the time passes but a person can’t change to its core. The main essence of Taek’s character can be just swept off. Like his father too has similar characteristics like Taek, he is shown calm and soft throughout the drama eventhough he is a single father struggling with many things yet is unable to share , not even once over the years his character loses it’s core even after getting married to sunwoo’s mother. Similarly a person can’t change to it’s core, here somewhere I feel like the reason the future husband was Taek was no longer prominent. In the years of youth taek has been observed teasing deok son here and there but his soft love for her is why we melt for his character. I could never sense the softness of taek’s character in the interview. The love is for sure there but taek is not true to it’s core. His hope-less romantic attitude when he withdraws from the match so that he he can run to Deok-son is lost. Even towards the end it is not hinted once.
My only question after a lot of thinking and replaying... How did Taek know that SW "rejected" DS? It was JH who witnessed it. Taek on the other hand read the diary about SW but I think it was only regarding the assumption of a mutual crush when DS wrote for the radio show. I want an explanation! 🤣😂
@@lem-06 SW don't know that DS used to like him, there was no actual confession. Except for JW, the boys have no idea. So for the future husband to say that he knows about the rejection, is just the writer letting the viewers believe that JW is the future husband (who witnessed the confrontation between DS & SW regarding Bora).
@@pretty1901 Taek read her diary, not just the ripped page... Husband told older Deoksun that he knows everything about her and older Deoksun asked the husband if he read her diary. He looked guilty and that was that. They've been married for 20 years and prob lived together longer so he definitely found her diaries and read them.

It sure was a trick, I swear everyone would have believed it would be JW (upto those DS-SW confrontation scene). Was it ep9 when the interview mentions "he must have liked you since that" talking about the Starry Night concert photo of DS & JW, it became clear Taek was the husband. But before that yeah I was tricked.

One funny argument was also the hair of the husband, some people were really saying he's Junghwan because of the hair... but that was intentional because we found in episode 10 that Taek has a forehead scar. The husband hair was to hide the scar. In the last episode husband has his hair up and we finally get to see the scar. Cool stuff imo
Of course not, old Taek character just said he quit smoking & taking sleeping pills when they started dating. And didn't you notice, the husband still cannot open easily the can of biscuit, &when he drank his glass of milk(?) still created a mess in his lips and shirt. It's really Taek.
It is Taek. There was a scene in the second to last episode where they were both arguing about what year it was when they started dating. Deok soon said, "It was not 1989, I was a senior then." Taek apologized saying he didn't remember because he wasn't in school at the time.
