I can see how that cocking indicator would be useful in the dark, when noise discipline is being practiced.

@@HistoryinFirearms yup, I love mine very accurate and reliable, it was great adjusting the gas system at the range, also you can load ten rounds in, push down on the last round , not to chamber the last round, close the slide on a empty chamer, drop the hammer, and now the weapon is decocked, and loaded, all you have to do to ready the weapon for firing , is just pull the slide back to chamber the first round and you are good to go.

Yes, I want the measurements of the length and width of the stock, and you have all respect. I want the engineering measurements for the heel of the rifle in order to make a new heel that is similar to the old one, because the old one has been missing for me for a long time. I own an Egyptian fn49 rifle without a heel Or the wooden structure body measurements .

I have a Fn49, wish they had adjustable sights like the Garand.

Yeah that would be nice. For the minimally trained soldier, these are certainly simple and less to mess up though.

They do , windage is screw adjustable and elevation in slide elevator , example , Fn49 in 7.92x57mm is more accurate with correct ammo then my M1 Garand with M2 ammo from bench with rest , gas opened 90 %.

A friend of mine offered me an Egyptian version. I would like to know what loads are safe for it and what loads are not safe. Some 8mm Mauser loads are pushing a 196 grain bullet at 2600 fps, are these rounds safe for the FN49?

I have shot some of the heavier loads with out issues. The FN-49 does have the adjustable gas system. The lighter loads will certainly be easier on the rifle.

@justsomeguy922r I dont see why you wouldn't be able to do that. The gas system is fairly easy to adjust. I do have a video on that also.

@@HistoryinFirearms I’ll definitely give it a look. The load I had in mind is similar to the one I mentioned, a 200 grain bullet at 2600 fps.
