People forget how terrifying fnaf 1 was when it was first released. We're so desensitized to five nights at freddys as a whole nowadays but this games atmosphere and horror is genuinely terrifying and still holds up so well to this day
I’ve played every fnaf game and none of them ever scared me HOWEVER spring trap was the only one that ever scared me and kinda still does not because of the design but Morley because it’s a human inside
1:58 I still think that's the best jumpscare in the game. You're so used to seeing stationary photographs that make you more uneasy than terrified because at least you have some time to plan. Suddenly, some animatronic you've never seen before comes sprinting down the hallway to your sanctuary. It's a shame it only really works once, it's incredibly well done and a genius move by the dev.
Completely agree. You could be scrolling through the cameras trying to make sense of where everybody is, and then suddenly you're greeted by that thing.
It's the eyes that do it for me. Because they eyes are the most expressive and lively part of the face(if not the whole body), having a close up of Bonnie's face with empty eye sockets with tiny white dots instead fills me with dread. His mouth being slightly ajar makes it worse.
1:13 Notice that ALL the heads look at the camera. I think Scott's original premise was there was just one soul haunting the place. This was the soul trapped in Golden Freddy and the one plastering "IT'S ME" on the walls. The other murders were incidental. This one soul would hop from animatronic to animatronic which explains why they seem to move one at a time and then freeze in place. And while FNAF2 expanded the lore considerably to include multiple specifically possessed animatronics, I think that original soul retained the ability to control any empty animatronic it wanted and just generally haunt the whole place. Could explain it's reaction in Give Gifts Give Life, seeing that now it couldn't possess those 4 animatronics anymore. Or it was just mad at what the Puppet had done, creating more things like them.
One thing i will never forget about the first 6 games is how realistic they looked. Pre-rendering all the locations was definitely the right call when scott was making these, and given that the software he used was technically a step down from maya, this is hella impressive. I dont mean to sound like a fnaf veteran or some shit but we NEED to bring this back.
Freddy in this game is on par with springtraps hidding abilities. The only difference is Freddy actually wants to the player to find him and know hes coming while springtrap is usually caught be accident and genuinely trying to hide. I mean freddy would actually be impossible to see on in the Dinning Area and bathroom if he had his normal non glowing eyes. Also one of the rooms he enters is the only one in the building with a broken camera. Hes even able to hide in the office pretty well. The only 3 rooms he enters where he isn’t hidden very well is the show stage, where he starts and should be by default, The East hall, where its pretty much impossible to stay out of sight, and most disturbingly the east hall corner, the closest room to the player. Hes staring at the camera as a message to the player to let him know that hes here and about to attack. Not to mention he always laughs as a taunt to let the player know he moved and is on his way to the office.
That's why I like Classic Freddy more than his other versions in subsequent games. In FNAF 1 he really is different, intelligent, practically a main antagonist in the gameplay. From FNAF 2 onwards, Freddy is pretty standard, he doesn't have a different mechanic and he's even easy to contain. And the worst thing is Classic Freddy's mechanics in UCN, in addition to being easy to stop him, he lost the characteristic of always being in the dark, he doesn't have his classic laugh, and his attack when energy runs out doesn't have the same impact.
2:03 notice how not only does the poster change, the reflection on the floor also changes! It’s a level of detail that’ll be unnoticed in gameplay and unnecessary, but Scott felt like it was needed, proves he worked hard!
@Toto it's never stated that it happened in '83, people only ASSUME it happened in 1983 because of the cartoon on the tv that has 1983 under the title, but there is NO MENTION of 2 bites, only one and that is the bite of '87
2:25 This image of chica will always be the most disturbing to me.. I don't like how her jaw hangs like that and her eyes look so dead, it's like her ghost (Susie) is saying that this was the pose she was in when William murdered her and that her jaw could've been ripped off/broken. IMO, this image is scarier than any of the jumpscares, it looks like the pose of an actual dead body you'd see in a crime scene.

Man, this video weirdly gives off the original vibes I got the first time I saw fnaf, before the newer games and all the extra convoluted lore. This first game is super creepy on its own.
0:43 will forever be the most unsettling image in fnaf for me Something about the looks they're giving has stuck with me for nearly a decade at this point, and I really can't explain exactly why it's always made me feel uneasy
1:16 a great detail by Scott. If you play the game and listen to Phone Guy, he mentions how the consequence of being caught is the Animatronics "will try to.....forcefully stuff you inside a Freddy Fazbear Costume" because they think you're an Endoskeleton without its Suit. But at the timestamp, you can see how Bonnie is in the Parts & Service room, standing Next to an exposed Endoskeleton, and is completely unbothered. Most people here don't connect that because their attention is too focussed on creepy Bonnie. But it adds so much layer if you think about it. It was the game telling you the Animatronics are in fact, snetient to some degree and that your intuition was correct. But the clever thing about it is that it's not an outright confirmation. That's why this is my favourite game in the franchise. It didn't spoonfed or dumbed down these things to make them palpable. That's where the real fear of the game thrives.
Honestly, I don’t throw this around loosely but fnaf 1 has the best aesthetic in any horror game I’ve seen indie or not. Combined with the ambiance it fits so perfectly, with very little juxtaposition.
1:12 even though the lore states that there’s only 5 ghost kids, I like the idea that the spare parts moving and the “It’s me” implies that the ghost of Michael’s brother is moving the spare parts as a message that could be him trying to say something like “I’m still mad at you for the bite” or “get out while you still can. I don’t want you to share the same fate as us”
I always thought that Michael's brother was possessing the fredbear suit that killed him, turning into golden freddy. I find specially interesting how the "it's me" messages flash even more when he appears in the office
It's definitely possible, at least for a couple of nights it would work. It could have him barelly surviving Freddy because of lack of energy on the first night, and then he starts to get better in the other ones. Also i think that Mike catching up on the patterns and closing the door on Foxy's face would be funny
@@HachannEinzbern Here r my ideas to improve the movie: After first dream, Mike wakes up in the first night to see Bonnie gone, later Chica disappears too (He'd wake up in 2 or 3 A.M.) After one of dream things, u could see eyes of spirits turn black & black tears (Like in minigames & that bad movie jumpscare) for a short moment before Mike wakes up confused Well, combining night 3 & 4 would feel too rushed, imagine truly seeing these robots up close only to see them building forts later Also during night 4, Mike could tell Vanessa that animatronics smell bad, it's called - FORESHADOWING (for Night 5 plot twist) It'd be cool if in night 2 of fnaf movie, it'd be simular to classic fnaf 1 stuff, but all 4 animatronics would try to hunt down Mike, it'd be like in Onaf - Each hour is harder than it's previous one It'd make sense for it not to happen in night 5, as the animatronics knew what to expect & while Mike's sleeping, Foxy came from left & put him in that torture mechanism & Mike would need to get out It'd show animatronics as smart, like they don't fall for the same stuff & do things differently or smth Scratch that! Freddy is fast & has no hook as one hand, so he should be the one to make Mike to torture device in night 5 Funny, isn't it? All Freddy related bots are the ones which lead to death of 2 people Abby knew & almost killed her brother I wish fnaf movie was actually scary, i don't really understand how William uses drawings to control. That custody sub plot also ended kinda badly. Nobody acknowledges death of Aunt Jane, Mike doesn't even know that he was betrayed by her
I love the way Freddy hides on the cameras. Unlike the other animatronics who at most just stand slightly in shadow, Freddy ACTIVELY hides in the darkness and only his glowing eyes give him away. The other animatronics are aware of the cameras themselves (they'll stare directly into them), but Freddy is aware that you *depend* on the cameras. He knows you are looking for him, and he knows that he can hide himself to avoid you. Up until he gets to the corner, when he's right in the camera's face... because he doesn't care about hiding; he's about to kill you.
2:29 the message seems to be constantly changing throughout the week. This is valued evidence. It appears that this could be used with the phone as evidence to story.
After all these years of FNAF games, people genuinely just forgot how good Scott did at making these animatronics feel like a GENUINE threat, something that would send chills down your spine. That Bonnie stare in the backstage, or all the heads turning to the camera, and especially when the animatronics would stand at the corner of the hallways gazing into your soul.
I think Foxy's "jumpscare" is funny compared to the others. The others have the screen shake, their mouths gnashing as they jump at you. Foxy is just popping in like "hey how's it going?"
I'm suprise people haven't noticed this but if you look at the monitors thingy during Foxys jumpsacre, it would glitch out. Well kind off, just see it for yourself. 0:38
this sound manages to make me feel an unpredictable agony, as if I were alone as security in fact, that remorse of fear, makes me want to cry and kick with the agony and shiver And the desire to see them at my door, or in the hallway next to me, and my heart races, fearing death more and more
Really? I find this stage to be the easiest to see Freddy when he can't easily be seen. If you look carefully you can make out his legs, body and head.

I remembered getting scared as hell when i first played five nights freddy as a kid it scared me a lot. Especially not knowing the game mechanics and just messing around suddenly the ambience hit as well as few jumpscares were bone chilling that time. Had to delete the game couple of times lol
The atmosphere fnaf 1 creates is so uncanny and horrifying, hearing that and then remembering you’re stuck in that old, abandoned pizzeria faced with 6 foot animatronics that move around on their own, and the fact that even if you flee from the office, they will still capture you and stuff you in a suit…

Okay, all three animatronics just looking through my soul got me good. But what I didn't expect was Freddy turning around too. I've somehow never seen that one before.
The shots of the animatronics with the black sclera with tiny white dot pupils are the most unnerving to me, Bonnie with this instance in the closet room and Freddy being alone at the stage, looking directly at you with those eyes.
I wish the movie kept their personalities, like bonnie being always tired but agressive, chica being lazy, foxy being shy, and freddy always hiding in the dark. In the movie everyone is just "Cute murder robot"
Dude this video resurrects the feeling I got when I first saw FNaF 1 perfectly. Once I'm able to fully look at these images without having to focus on the game I realize how goddam uncanny they are (in a good way) The first game absolutely nails the feeling of being alone in a supposedly "innocent" kids establishment after hours. The story is hinted at just enough so you can infer what's going on, but not too much so it's still mysterious and interesting. I feel like a lot of these aspects were lost as early as the second game onwards (not saying that makes it bad though, just different from the first game) Also Chica is the creepiest FNaF 1 animatronic IMO (and probably one of the creepiest overall) The image of her at 1:30 is one of the most unsettling images in the whole franchise to me. It's her face. Jesus Christ that fucking face. Also her in the hallway corner is creepy too. Out of all the animatronics in general Chica is really the only one who scares me (and that's also part of why she's one of my faves) Also someone else in the comments described her in the hallway looking like a corpse which I think is a very good comparison. I love her design, her bib and round shapes make her stand out to me. (Though Foxy peeking out of his curtain is kind of spooky as well) Good god this comment was way longer than I expected it to be. But that's ok because I guess I still like talking about this game more than I realized.

I forgot how much scary was playing fnaf back then it gave you stress too much fear, the animatronics were very scary when they were on the stage and bonnie (no wonder why scott is scared of him) and i was very bad playing this game bc i used too much battery. Seeing this video remember me my unluckiest days playing the game but it was and interessing😢😊😂
The original fan theory was that Freddy was possessed by a girl. Between his laugh being a little girls laugh slowed down and the fact he peaks through the girls toilets. It was of both partially confirmed but debunked at the same time, as Cassie (not to be confused with FNAF RUIN Cassie) possesses Golden Freddy. Cassie being the daughter of Henry Emily, Purple Guy's "friend".

i started playing fnaf in 2014 why dont i remember being decorations for halloween i took a peak to the ripped assets yesterday and almost shat my pants when i saw a low quality pumpkin it was better than the jumpscares lol
