That point about foam having a hard time penetrating your skin if you already have a beard is essential. I've been using foam and have been needing to trim them every few weeks just so I know that my skin is actually getting minoxidil and not the beard. I hate the liquid but when I'm using it I know I'm actually getting it on my skin.
Personally just from 4 days of using the foam version I can say it’s kind to my skin and I feel my face itching a lot which means new growth is coming into my beard, I hope in these 3 months I can complete my full beard instead of just having a goatee
@@noquestionnolie I have seen some progress I’m currently on month 2, my left side is coming along just fine, but my right side (weak side) still needs more work, but overall I am seeing a small difference and that’s better than nothing.
@@xef3547 beard is around 75%. It’s just sides that need more growth. Would’ve been there already if my barber didn’t cut so much off when I told him not too.
cool thanks - I've been beard-journeing consequently for the past 1.5 years and there are indeed results - definitely works better than I had ever expected, but it's also not done yet after 1.5 years so it does take patience. Cool to see others have the same passion though so thanks for this video.
@@exerciserelax8719 I am now almost 4 years into it and the changes do seem premanent, but I have experienced some adverse events in my general health, I am not sure how much they are related to minoxidil - so I am still unsure if I can recommend it. For me there just didn`t seem to be another choice. It is also not a real "full beard" I have gained, but I think it would qualify as "goatee".
I used Kirkland minoxidil liquid for one year in 2019 and it worked pretty good... This year 2023 I will be using rogaine minoxidil foam for the whole year and see how it goes 😎
@@exerciserelax8719 about 40% fell off when I stop using it in 2019 😭.. I am currently using the foam everyday. I am afraid if I stop using it I will loose it again 😭 so I use it every single day
I started with the foam and I grew a very nice beard . I stopped using and my hair fell out , I forgot it takes a while to turn permanent. But I still have a beard , but with the foam it’s a tad hard getting to the skin especially on the chin . Soni think I will change to the liquid now . Maybe Kirklands brand
I tried liquid at 1st, same effect like you. Pimples started come out. But the beard grow faster. Compare to foam, a bit slower for me. But easy to handle.
@@Amber-596 as a man, i don’t really care about the acne. But it slowly getting worse, then I need to take care of my skin. Wash my face, using face steamer etc. But a lot of work. That’s why I’m using foam right now. Because I’m sooooooo lazy. LOL
I started my journey Today. Just applied minox liquid for the first time, after 30min I felt like a stone hit the top of my head (lasted for 5 hours). lol :/
@@Rizzy_K genius you must be from America because the minoxidil in Europe you spray it. So spray it on your face and rub it in…. What ain’t you getting “genius” clown
@@Bigbiceps301 that’s up to you to decide. If you can make it work using the liquid then go for it. The foam, although more expensive, is easier for me to apply
Lol i just bought 2 ounce for 58€ lol.... its very expensive and hard to find but a RU-vidr put a link in his description i think there is few but not many
Hi, I’ve watched two (2) of your videos, liked both of them, & subscribed to your channel. I just started my Minoxidil journey last night. I purchased a six-pack of Kirkland Minoxidil 5% from Costco yesterday.
I think it will only happen if it goes through the blood stream systemically but needs alot to do that and topically doesn't go systemic or if it does it's very very minimal so you should be fine. I've started the liquid but will prob go on to the foam at some point
Great video. I actually used the liquid minoxidil for about 4 months , like 5 years ago and it worked pretty well. I should have kept using it a bit longer as some of my progress regressed. I tried using it again this year, but this time the fumes were giving me headaches and dizziness. I want to try the foam version with hopes that it does not give me headaches. If anyone has any insights, that would be appreciated 👍🏼
Oooh good question! ☺️ I remember sitting in front of the fan trying to make it dry faster every morning before class tomorrow 😭 I wouldn't use a blow dryer, I don't know how the heat would affect the minoxidil, but if it was set to a cold setting then I think you'd be okay. HOWEVER, I don't know that I really recommend it, because rather than being absorbed into your skin, the minoxidil would just dry on your face, leaving a white looking residue. My advice would be to try foam, which dries in 90 seconds, but otherwise I think the Minox is just gonna take awhile to absorb unfortunately 😭
The goal is for your face to fully absorb the Minoxidil. Sititing in front of the fan, near the direct breeze of an air conditioner, or worse, blow drying it would only evaporate the liquid/foam, wasting your $$$ and effort.
Ive been trying to grow a beard just like you, your videos are very informational, Whats your weekly routine for the Foam? How many times do you put the foam on your face per day ? and for how many hours ? Do you use a derma roller ? What other products and info can you hell me with ? I really wanna grow a beard and this definitely seems like the way to go Ive subbed and im following your journey
In my experience, yes. My beard fell out but nothing huge. At least not to me because my beard was patchy already so it just became a little more patchy at first than it came it like normal again.
44 years old and could never grow anything close to a beard. Over the past year or two ive started to grow more hair on the side of my face. Just started this week on minoxidil, well see if it works for us old dudes?
hi how to determine if the kirland foam minoxidil is fake?. ive been using liquid minox for 3 months and the result was huge. i have my foam right now. then when i noticed there is no hair to grow. thanks for the answer.
I put liquid minoxidil (0,75ml) on my face today (I shaved before), and it felt like I applied water. My face didnt get wet more than 3 minutes! And you re telling me it take 60 min to dry, did I get scammed? I have the same product as you!
What about using face cleanser products before you put on the foam? Or the product in general... Is that a common idea? Was thinking of clearing my pores before I started...
Please Reply 🙏 I used Minoxidil for almost 2 years and stopped suddenly due to some reason. I had full terminal beard by then but after some days of stopping Minoxidil my scalp hair started shedding, lost lots of hairs and it got thin on my crown, even can see little bald patches. I had very dense hair. 😢 Now it's been 4 years after stopping and I was waiting for the hairs to grow back, it didn't. What can I do now to regrow the hair I lost?
When you stop using it do you lose the hair you gained? I know that's supposed to happen on top of your head but I've heard people say that their beard changes were permanent.
Hi, I don't know if you'd see this but, im wondering if I have to use the same amount of minox if I already have a decent beard, I just have some holes to fill out. I used to use 0.5ml twice a day (half of the normal dose) Is that right?
I love the foam. I started out on the foam but once i started sprouted more hair its become more difficult to get to the skin. So now i find myself switching to the liquid. Im going to try this out so i can get to my skin. Hopefully it works.
I'm sick and tired of liquid even with moisturizer sometimes my face itches like a bitch I swear I've lost hair from how much I scratch my cheek but I bought 2 bottle of liquid I'll be down with the first in a week then I just gotta put up with the 2nd but once I'm finished with it I'm going full foam.
Hey hey. So being that I wear my mask the foam would be my best bet right. Since your saying it drys so fast. And what is your facial cleanser routine if you have one ?
I'm on day 3. I bought the foam from Walmart. The only side effects so far is a little bit of a burning sensation for about 5 minutes after application. Then it goes away.
So? Just shave it off, is not like you're going to grow a full set of hair on random places, it's just tiny little extra hairs I have to say the biggest and only side effect I have had is skin dryness and itchyness (but it goes away after a few minutes), so far now, been on it in liquid form for 1 month and 2 weeks and feel content with the results, it's worth it bro!
@@alexrosario3635 thanks for your encouragement.. I will go with the foam and see what i can get.. I have many baby hair on my face and neck.. Hopes it turn terminal with the help of minox
Definitely a real fear for everyone who does minoxidil! The biggest side effect was actually the dry skin and itchiness for me too. I occasionally find smaller hairs under my eyes or on my ear, but SUPER easy to trim, and they go away when you stop minoxidil!
@@ToBeardAndBeyond I wanted to start these journey as soon as possible but because of quarantine i can't go out nor order it online.. I wish i would have know about minox before the lockdown 😆
I will advice you to use the minoxidil on your face before using roller is the best way, better use if use the roller before the minoxidil its really gets into the skin and it itch
Before: Before using a dermaroller, you must cleanse your face with soap and water (preferably something with antibacterial qualities). This is very important since there is loads of bacteria that are present on your face that could cause a multitude of infections if it gets into your skin. If you are going to derma roll, please wait AT LEAST 24 hours before applying minox. source: beardwiki.com/minoxidil-faq
I would use a derma roller on a minoxidil "off" day. I wouldn't recommend using both in the same day! Like the comments below say, there's a big danger of bacteria getting into the facial cuts 😬
Hi! I'm Asian and as stereotype... Asians can't grow facial hair. Grrrr.... I hate it!... 😭 Anyways... I like start my journey of beardness... I would like to know if you could use the foam at daytime application (for the reason I'm going to office at daytime) and using the liquid at night (coz i will be at home and i don't care if someone there will notice it)
Which it's good and Asian get older very slow, you guy's without beard isn't the same like Caucasian without, we're getting older, you got natural face for it, we don't, Caucasian needs beard to look better but Asian not !
Hi. I'm on a minox journey for 5 weeks but doesnt show any results. I apply it 2x a day. When i wake up and in the afternoon after work. Am I doing this wrong? I'm using the liquid one btw. Thanks for any advise. Goodluck on your journey. :)
From what i have heard, you should give approx 12 hours gap b/w two applications.. don’t worry about the results, just follow the process for at least 3 months. :)
@@rohitbatra2950 Awesome! I'll keep that in mind. Hopefully I will see even abit of result after 3 months :) Also, is hair loss also normal in the process?
Shedding is normal as it makes way for darker and stronger new hair.. I have just completed only 3 weeks today, and haven't noticed any noticable shedding or hairfall. Neither does any growth or results so far but i think it will be worth continuing :)
Let me tell you brother, if I COULD grow a beard, I WOULD 😂 I'm taking minoxidil to do just that. I'm also not advising anything about HAVING a beard, only about how to use minoxidil
Bro I never give advice on growing a beard, I do give advice on how to use minoxidil though! 😂 This channels main purpose is to document my journey AS I GROW A BEARD. Think of it like someone documenting their weight loss journey while recommending the products that help them along the way 🤷🏻
