I appreciate you noticing! I've put a lot of time and effort in. They are compensated to the miniDSP neutral curve. I would only compare my graphs to other measurements I have taken and not other sources (as I would recommend in most any case really).

@@gamingaudioguide9292 Thanks for your answer! The 1770 is on my list too. It would be really awesome if you can get your hands on the ADH-a990z there is almost no information about them online and even less for gaming with them. Im really curious about your Shure 1540 video!

I am glad you enjoyed it. The MG Pro would fit the bill but is a pretty pricey so I would only go that way if you use them A LOT. The standard Clear has been on discount around different retailers and may be a good option. They are a warmish headphone but still fairly analytical. Make sure you buy from someone with a good return/exchange policy in case they don't suit you.

Aeolus has pretty good resolution in general. This is better though. Aeolus would be on same level of detail retrieval as DT 1990, Elex, Clear, etc.

That was one of my first worries. I find no issues personally. I've gone about 6 hours so far without any issues with weight or heat.

completely DOA in that ear cup. There's no question for me. If I'm buying Focal headphones - Elex, Elear, Clear, etc - I'm buying new and through a distributor with great service.

MG Pro is hands down my favorite headphone to date.

I like to repeat this, as I think it's worth noting but you don't NEED $500-$1500 headphones for gaming. You just don't. HOWEVER..... :) Money no object, yes the Clear MG has no peer. It is my reference set and it still surprises me. Even in games like Destiny 2 where footsteps are very underwhelming and hardly useful - they stand out with the MG pro. It has not pvp peer right now. I'm long past the honeymooning stage with it, so I feel like that is a big statement.

That's disappointing. I would only buy their headphones from a distributor known for good service.

Unfortunately, I don't have them both on hand for direct comparison. Honestly, I think it's the same. It's the resolution that is a noticeable upgrade to me. If I had just bought the Clear, I would certainly return it to get the MG. Both for the improved resolution and to not have the light grey and white that stain so easily. If you have the regular pro, at least not as much concern there.

@@gamingaudioguide9292 thank you for the response. It’s the non pro I got, so the light grey. Only other consideration is mine have 3 very nice cables including a balanced cable (which aren’t cheap). Would really like a non Pro MG version to emerge ASAP.

There is one coming! I don't love the color scheme but it will hide any staining the best. Those cables are nice....

Can't give a direct response to your question, but no Sennheiser headphone is a match for the clear in the bass department! Not even close. As a clear owner i think the clear is still one of the best cans for bass out there, matched by probably the best impact / punch of any open can i know of or better could listen to by myself. I don't think "upgrading" to these new "pro" revision is worth it. Maybe it isn't even an upgrade. The (original) clear's resolution is up there with the best only beaten by the likes of utopia / HD 800(S) and a few other cans, which are generally much more expensive and with their own tonal problems. Subjectively i'm more than fine with the great resolution of the clears and don't want it to get through the roof for gaming. The more resolution you got the better the source material has to be! Especially games are more often than not plagued by mediocre mastered sfx and music. Besides the lighter color which is more prone to get dirty, but that might only be a problem with selling in mind, i think it's the better package against the pro. The rubberized pro cables are stiff as hell and as said here, the shorter one is too short (1,20m) and the coiled cable would be of no use for me.

I tried both and I don't think they are a straight up upgrade to the previous Clear. They are a bassier and warmer headphone with a tamer treble. I'd compare them to the HD650 to the Clear OG's HD600 if that makes sense. I prefer the original TBH... the MG is a bit too warm for me and takes away what made me like the Clears.

Money no object - yes, the MG Pro is it.

Between the MG and the MG pro, there are no differences acoustically according to Focal. The differences are to find in the different colour schemes and the added equipment, thus the cables. The equipment added to the MG are more for home users. The equipment in the box of the MG Pro are more for studio heavy users. Hence just pick the Focal Clear with glance on your colour and cable preferences. They will tune equal. Hope that helps 🙃

It is hit or miss. Luckily failures typically manifest right away. Stick to buying from distributors with good service and you should be okay.

It is a bit absurd isn't it? Focal Radiance followed up immediately by the Celestee both of which have the aluminum magnesium drivers. I wish they would focus their efforts on fabricating a more affordable headphone utilizing the beryllium driver. Imagine being able to purchase one for around $1.5k that sounds as good as the Stellia but doesn't necessarily flaunt all of the posh expensive materials and aesthetics.
