Tried these in real life for a day and returned them. Shrilly and cold are two words that came to mind. Handle power really well but the similar costing morel hybrid also takes the power and is much smoother. Wanted to demo the dynaudio esotec as well but was unable to. Been running the hybrids for a bit and if you use passives a zobel on the woofer helps the upper roll off

@@chawkins45ify yes it’s better, you should just be aware from fakes online, if you can’t get genuine italy get other brand, I always offer help but people are falling for it and than contact for help, for your type of music the ME650CII/iii will fit best. MT650c is discount because of the fakes issues.

@frednsound Hi can you tell me if this is correct so I had my woofer output and tweeter output connected as its written on the crossover, but you see where you have looped the wire I basically made a cut on each of those and wired it that way instead of what you done, I can see you have 2 input wires on the first and second hole to the left.

Are these Focal speakers worth paying all that money for. I was focus on doing a whole kenwood interior but my sound guy keep trying to get me to do Focals in my front doors and say don't worry about the back because of the sound the Focals produce you not gone be able to hear the back doors. I always have 1 12" American Bass XFL

equizikal the site you sent is not steg official site, I do not know that site, search GTTRADING ITALY, the mother of steg AudioSystem Italy, GTtrading is the manufacturer of more then 10 known brands, they are over 34 years now, made in Italy, you can find more online reviews of Honda then Maserati, that’s means Honda is better? Hi Fred, I recently got these installed and at medium to high volume the tweeter starts to distort. They are wired with the crossover as well. Why would they still distort?

Hi mate, these focal speakers never holds up, you will find them extra sharp with unbalanced high. If it’s completely distorting, checks your amp and try writing 4ch at bi-amp mode. You may have lacking power/voltage. Thanks for watching

Looking for some suggestions. I have the focal 165kx3 up front with a jl hd600/4. The rear has the jl c5 coaxial setup with another jl hd600/4. I also have a hd750/1 with the 12w6v3. The HU is a kenwood dmx1057xr and i have a jl Twk 88 dsp. The question I have is should I run the front with the crossover block Biamped or full active without???

Hey Fred & Sound me again. I have come across a problem. I mentioned before I am using these in a diy speaker pair. I have them working but they seem to not play bass they have a midrange but bass is lacking I am driving them via Naim equipment so quite capable but it just can’t produce those lows. It is a sealed cabinet. What power is that Amp and what volume were you playing at in terms of Decibels. Could you provide your email so I can contact you?

Aside from the cone on the midbass driver and 2ohm vs 4ohm, how do these differ from the ES 165K? Any real difference in sound quality or dynamic range for the extra $?

devin porter hi, yes there’s a difference but not that big, at overall they sound similar (cold sound) the tweeter is always kind of harsh on focal, they are good for electric music, thanks

You can’t judge that by the eye. These have a guide on the pole vent as well. They are actually praised for there mid bass peak output potential and linearity.

You do realise that it's terrible practice to use an open backed woofer with no baffle or enclosure like this right? This will sound attrocious no matter what driver you use.
