There are now Speed/Power controls. A recent update added 15 levels of power to dial in your desired speed. The experience has improved immensely. Add a more stable wing such as the 200 or 250 HA wing and it'll be a recipe for a "beginner friendly board" and not just for "experienced riders." Stellar customer service too.

I bought a GetFoil a month ago (mid August) and the controller was a mess from day 1 and the subsequent customer service has been really sloppy. When I asked for a new controller I got a canned reply from GetFoil telling me essentially to reboot the controller. I rebooted and then got stranded on the lake and because the remote would not unlock. I emailed again about a new remote and got another canned answer. It was only after calling with great frustration that they sent a UPS label and promised me a new controller. In the meantime I can't use my brand new board. I will wait another week and then I am ready to warn others from buying a GetFoil. It's a shame because the board is great but without a working controller it is useless.

Glad to see some competition in the efoil market. I've been foil surfing for about a year now. And I am absolutely hooked. But my shoulders and legs can only paddle and pump and ride so much. And I can only take so many wipeouts before I'm in too much pain to want to foil. This lets people experience foiling without the struggle. It took me MONTHS to ride consistently. After a year of goin every day, I'm lucky to stay up for 2 minutes. That's all I got in me in terms of skill and cardio. Those mast holes aren't square which makes me believe this board can ONLY be used as a efoil board. No big deal, but I would LOVE to use the 4'8" board as a wing board with my Armstrong foils. ESPECIALLY with that storage compartment. Would be good for snacks and water on long downwinders. Buttttt I see the mast holes setup this way ensuring the mast can ONLY go on one way to make this simple for the end user. No concave on the bottom is a big turn off. I have owned flat contour boards and they suck. You touch down and get stuck to the water. My concave boards touch down and release easily. I'd bet you could easily mock up a concave section in foam and glass it and use adhesive to give it some planing and concave but idk. Simple feature to overlook. If anyone at GetFoil is reading this, some nice board designs would be a step bottom to hide the mast plate. This also adds speed and extra lift. It was a concept used by Ben Aipa for surfboards but could definitely apply here. Kick tail shape to help kick the tail and release the nose. This subtle change ius HUGE and you'll see it on nearly every modern foil board. Majek, KT, Freedom Foil, Lift, etc. Concave to help with early release and touch downs. And beveled rails for harder carves. This is mainly for very experienced riders that demand all this stuff.. But i know how I would want to ride and those are the feature I want as I would be whipping this efoil into waves and swell. The current product is badass at this price since nobody else is offering it. Also, you didn't mention it, but that battery has all the brains of the board. The Lift has those built in the board. If you fuck up a Lift board, it's a VERY expensive. If you fuck up this board, it's not too bad as the board is replaceable and the expensive computer robot stuff is all in the battery. Just my $0.02. I can't wait to demo on O'ahu and see if I'd wanna drop coin on one. I'd love to rent and offer lessons and spread the love for foils.

I need to remember to check comments here from time 😅. Good thoughts here. Hope you had a chance to try a FOIL. I've always enjoyed trying different boards and gear from all boardsports. I feel like I learn something every time. The one main thing that is not inside the battery is the ESC. It is inside the fuselage just behind the heatsink find/ grooves that I pointed out in the video. I learned about this afterwards. FOIL is new and still continues to improve, add, and evolve

I got the green one too....Its sharp...I live in Maine...ordered last March...came in by October but too cold to ride by then..looking forward to this summer to give it a run...nice video!

Yes they did. 😀 The update was just as predicted. One tap to go up and two taps on the button to go down. There are 15 speed levels

Waydoo flyer one or Foil? I’m debating between the two. I’m liking the slightly higher speed of the Foil but Waydoo seems to have better reviews and a faster recharge. Foil having financing and a better website are additionally compelling. Thoughts?

Waydoo is now two years on the market. They started really bad with broken masts and terrible customer service but improved the board a lot since then. The new waydoo is pretty noiseless and soft forgiving board foam board. Less riding time obviously than FOIL. A good and cheap beginner board. Foil is more aggressive and professional brand, developing great promising features. Waydoo seems not interested in any developments of new wings or board sizes, I don't see any news from them. They are probably happy where they are.

Sorry for the late added response. I second JetSurfing Nation. Though Waydoo had many reported problems at first, I personally had no major problems and acceptable customer service. FOIL customer response is fantastic. Location in the USA is beneficial too. Waydoo was and is an excellent eFoil to learn on. Super forgiving and easy to ride. It depends on a person's needs and wants for what is best. If there is greater emphasis on having a beginner friendly board or for casual use and withstanding daily abuse without worries of scratches, then Waydoo will be a great efoil. if you're looking for more, FOIL has more options, performance and unbeatable value, especially now that the starting price is the same as Waydoo. Whatever you chose, or choose, Live Life to the Foilest 🤙🏼

Hello. Sorry for the late response. I don't always think to come check responses here, but I should from time to time. I'm guessing you are referring to the magnet I spoke of in the Waydoo eFoil? Many Waydoo owners (not me) had problems with the magnet in the board. The magnet wasn't making proper contact with the battery and had to be lifted/ shimmed for proper contact. Otherwise the eFoil would not work at all. There is discussion about this issue on a monthly basis on Waydoo pages. It's a known issue but an easy one to remedy. If there is something that you feel I misrepresented or don't understand about the magnet, let me know. I'm still very new to foiling in general and would like to represent things accurately in the future. Live Life to the Foilest 🤙🏼
