It actually took me a bit to find this video... I wasn't happy with the dozen or so other end results that RU-vid was promoting. This is by far the most professional looking result I've found. This guy knows his shit, great video!

My grand dad was a master upholster and through my dad I've inherited some of his tools but not the skills. Cannot thank u enough for making an excellent video to the YT University how to use them. Again, thank u so much.

Thanks for the great, detailed tutorial! I have upholstered several chairs, etc., but when it comes to corners I never have been able to get them this nice. I love this technique, so helpful! Can't wait to use this on my current projects. Thanks again.

Thank you for this thoughtful tutorial; it was so helpful and exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate your attention to detail and your focus on the time it takes to get it done CORRECTLY, which is seldom the same as getting it done quickly!

Thank you for your expert advice. It is evident you are very skilled. I have a question. I am wondering if you would use this technique for vinyl on a 5 inch cushion seat.

Once you get the first seat perfect, can you remove it and use it as a template for the other seats? That would save lots of time and cutting
@jimbobxcityguy5338

Try putting the tacks in your mouth. That's what the magnetic hammer and sterilized tacks are for. That's how upholsters ..true upholsters have done it and did it. My father used to buy 100lbs of tacks per size he liked. #6 and #3's.

Mike, what brand and model of tack hammer are you using? Does it have a split head?

You're wrong with all those, there should be 2 pleats, makes it look equal and neater.

You are making extremely hard work of something so simple, as an upholsterer with 52 years experience, the way you are doing it is way too difficult, , after you have tacked the sides, pin the middle of the corner first, cut the excess out, and fold the fabric on both sides, this will give you two smaller folds, instead of one larger fold, use a tacking hammer to tap the folds flat, But if one fold is required, then pull the fabric right up to the corner, pulling tightly, cut out the excess fabric, then fold the fabric "facing away" from the front of the seat ! so you are not looking into the fold from the front ! Hope this helps.

Hello Do you have an email address and DVD’s to purchase? I bought 2 on eBay and I’m interested in books too. I sent you an email today from google but not sure if it was yours. I also called a NY/NJ # and left a message. I’m in Texas and can’t come to any of your great classes. Thanks, Mike

I had such high hopes in the beginning. … There's gotta be a more standardized technique. … that doesn't include risking the whole cut by cutting the fabric so close to the corner. Idk, says you're a pro, but this is exactly what I was doing on my first attempt before I said there has to be a better way. peace
