After this video, I met up with Shaun and he is a wonderful guy. Very genuine, never asks for anything and super grateful. On a mission to get him home to NZ. Back to his familiy, but unfortunitly with COVID it's a bit challenging. If anyone would love to support in anyway, plz message me x
Would a plane ticket back to NZ help Shaun, you think? NZ will quarantine him fully paid by the govt for 14 days. He can then move forward with his life.
@@soniyazas he's currently in a hotel for the last few weeks here. Going to NZ right now probably wont make much of a difference, but after COVID, yes.

@@harleyguy7 not necessarily mate, sometimes yess but many people would like to get back into society normally and contribute. There are also kids that don't know how to get out.
We do help them every chronic homeless person has been given housing free furniture jobs ect at least once some many times but keep stuffing up because of addiction/ mental health issues and laziness. Some people just don't have the strength needed to push through this life. Sad but true.
So how come there's so many people here saying this bloke is great but nobody is willing to offer him a rental property somewhere? Bloody do something for this guy. If I was back in Melbourne I would find him a unit and pay the first months rent and get him in there so he could look for a job and start over!
Hey, appreciate your concern. Lucky for Shaun he was given accommodation during COVID as the government didn't want anyone in the streets. Unfortunately as covid has reduced, he still needs some help. As a Christian if I had a lot on my pocket and had unit I would help this guy in heart beat it brokes my heart to see this good bloke on the street with noting no shelter no clothing no bed to sleep no food it's so sad 😭
It breaks my heart to hear that he called himself a 'guard dog' for sleeping outside the restaurant. Even if is a joke, is not funny that someone can actually identified themself as that. Has anybody seen him recently?
Adelaide & sydney are far worse. Melbourne is way better for quality of life than anywhere else. You won't find affordable accomodation in sydney or adelaide.
Well I'll let you in on something, Adelaide has lots of homeless people too and guess what, nobody in Adelaide gives a rats arse about them. Not the locals or the government. So if anyone tells you Melbourne is a cold heartless terrible place to be, tell them to wise up and understand that its not a Melbourne problem, its a human problem. Australians couldn't care less about strangers. The state governments should be offering homeless people unused rental properties. These people deserve to have a roof over their head and a job to go to.
Seems to be alot of NZ homeless needing help, If Australia wont help I think our government needs to help them from home. If they're living on the streets then our government needs to extend some help and get them housed and fed.
There are quite a few kiwis stuck here, there was a big campaign to see if Australia would let kiwis get the dole but nothing from Scomo meanwhile Aussies can get it there. Bit of a joke but kiwis help kiwis. I will be going to find him near the arts center when all this Covid is done.
Well my view is a logical one. If you can't afford to live in and support yourself in Australia don't come here. The last thing we need is migrants coming here and accessing taxpayer funds to improve their lives. Its not the role or responsibility of Australian to fix migrants lives. You work hard and pay your own way in this world, if you don't like the Australian way do not come here!

It's hard cuz hes a good bloke but because hes homeless and looks like cliche homeless person no one will want go near him.. i mean they will give him a couple of bucks but no one would invite him in your house, give him a shower, buy him new clothes
