This one has been my favourite so far. Ian shows his stuff, doesn’t just look at a right miss and give someone a draw head, he understands it at such a deeper level.
Agreed in full. Ian, Mike, and the whole TXG team go so much deeper than just the basics which sets them apart from other fitters. I am sure most fitters we consumers would encounter would see the TSR3 being lower flight and go left and say “we fixed it, let’s move on” A select “better” fitters may take it a step further and move to the Ping but after seeing a couple good ones say “well, you’re striping it with that so all good” Ian wants to confirm after a lot of swings what will still work. This is what they mean when they say the company name changes but they’re still the same 👏🏽
Went to Toronto 2 weeks ago for full bag fit with Alex at Club Champion, it was great, started with the irons then the driver (also ended up with the G430) then the fairways and wedges. Hit over 200 balls over 3+hours so I was pretty tired at the end but these guys know what there doing. BTW I'm also around a 15 but without Zacks muscles😉. Can't recommend these guys enough!!!!
@@ZackKennedyy I’ve been working on an inside takeaway to eliminate my 2 way miss. Consistently hitting baby draws now. I feel more free over the tee ball and can now swing a little harder. I bought a swing speed trainer recently. Will start working with it to increase swing speed for next year
Ian, how can I get my dad a fitting with you specifically?? I’ve had bad luck getting him fitted so far. I don’t know a single person more deserving of the compliment “world class” than you. Case in point is this video, you did everything in your power to make sure this man was set up.
Shot 80 this year. First 3 speed sessions I’m up to 129mph (not swinging at a ball). If I can somehow harness this speed with driver it could be a true weapon. This gives me some thoughts on going to get refit. Great vid gents.
Very Excellent video. I only wish we had someone in my area of the country with your skills and patience to work with the average golfer. I've been to three fittings just recently and not one of them went into any more depth than choosing a particular club that I felt comfortable with and a couple of standard shaft choices. No one mentioned any of the parameters you've delved into with Zach here other than Launch, Carry and Ball Speed. And no one went past just a few standard shafts.
Excellent video as always. It's amazing to see someone come in and hit the ball off the heel, toe, slice, and hook, and then actually be able to fit them into something. If this was me, I wouldn't even bother getting fitted until I got my club path and club face both to where I want it to be. Great job getting Zack into something that looks like it should help him.
That's something I see in comments all the time. They fit like a 5 to 8hcp and then people want to see a 18 to 20hcp and it's almost like they want to see it thinking the club will make this huge difference and make them play so much better and ultimately.....it's the swing not the club for the most part.
Awesome video, great to see how the fitting can really change the shot shape. One thing we never see though is how much the setup you fit someone into costs. is that something you would be willing to share in future videos?
This is great. I’m 44. Started playing golf 1 year ago. Pretty much same as this guy, a tad worse prob. Shoot usually mid to low 90s. Broke 90 4 times in first year. Best round 87. My driver is terrible. I just don’t have the technique yet. I’m 6-4 and fit, should be able to pump it. But typically hit like this, 205 carry, 225 total. When I catch it I may carry 240-250 and roll to 270. I have to get fit for driver. Have an off the rack thing from Dicks. Great video and I’m inspired. Great work everyone!
Great video guys. As much as I love seeing elite golfers stripe the ball repeatedly, I also geek out over the numbers when an average golfer like myself ( 10 to 11 handicap ) has club tweeks made by professionals that improve ball flight especially limiting the damage on those mis hits. Top stuff.
You guys are so much details in driver fitting. When I went to the club champion at Del Mar for my driver fitting, the fitter was a disappointment, to say the least. Club Champion needs to do an undercover with the Del Mar fitter.
I love this! I’m about a 15 and just got fit at club champion in Orlando. Ended up g430 max with diamana PD 60 s. Helped me not miss as far right. I had similar speed numbers as this guy. I love to see the gains.
As a 13 hcp who played 3 wood for 3 years to stay in play more often this video is awesome for thought. Driver makes or breaks a round for me if it comes out of the bag. I pretty much know what score i'm posting with 3 wood. which is stressful knowing I could have many more birdie putts with a cooperative Driver
It’s ridiculous that Ian doesn’t just charge a fortune to teach fitters. His fitting methods should be the standard in the industry. I’ve been fit before and they are nothing like this. It seems like they are just guessing and when you hit 2 or 3 good ones they say looks like we found the one.
The diamana zf/gt are such a good shaft. Loving my Sim/zf combo. Recently took the sliding weight out and put in a heavier weight in the rear. Hoping it increases forgiveness on my toe strikes while retaining some low spin elements.
It would be awesome to get fitted by you guys. The driver fitting is one of the things that would help out so much and seems like most places around where I am have no clue how to fit people right.
That was great. I've been watching for over a year. I live in Michigan. What does an average driver fitting cost? I'm about 15 handicap. 68 years old. Need more distance on driver. driver
Come on in to the local Club Champion! Each of our fitters goes through hours of rigorous textbook and hands-on training at our exclusive Club Champion University. Or just hop on a flight to Toronto, Canada and get fit by Ian or Mikey 😂
How do you balance the benefits of fitting a club to the swing as opposed to improving the swing …… I noticed that you said you normally ask about a client’s coaching programme so does that affect the advice you give?
I'm very undecided my g410 lst 75 stiff is still my weapon although I did just put the g430 3 hybrid in the bag and love it so looking to upgrade the 3 wood and driver
Is every club champion fitting like this? Love going back and forth and making small changes and going back. I had a golftec full bag fitting and it was pretty bad. Didn’t really try too many things and just seemed like they wanted me out asap
This was great. I want to try the ping driver now. Only thing that would be better is if you also tried to fit them into a head that's a few years old to compare.
I'd have been really interested to see if a similar end result could have been achieved with the original driver head, just changing the shaft and head settings. Did he go back and re-hit the Epic after he'd warmed up as well?
If I could get off the tee that far instead of a 14 I'd be single digits for sure. I've been struggling so bad the last few rounds I've only been using irons.
What I would do to have these guys fit me I feel like my experience at club champion is like ok that’s good enough that’s $850 and let’s pure that shaft for you now it’s 1,000 I feel like these guys genuinely want this guy to be a better driver if the ball and want to really help him
What was the new grip that changed the swing weight? I looked and couldn't find it, sorry if it was mentioned. I also use the tour wrap 2g. Thanks great video
What flex was being used for testing? I couldn’t tell if it was S or XS flex. My swing speed is around 110 and have swung both S and XS so this would be a nice reference point so I can try out some different options.
Ian, being that I am coming off of a now 2nd back surgery. Do you think it would be advantageous to be fitted to a different driver, or just maybe fine tune my current driver?
So I went for a driver fitting at the Sarasota location while I was visiting family for Christmas and unfortunately I did not get this level of attention or detail. I was so bummed out. My fitter even said he has to leave early and that was even after they had to reschedule me due to a car problem with the other fitter. I get it. It happens but man an email would have been fantastic.
Static fitting is great! Fitting for a full swing (unless you are scratch or better is chasing something that makes no sense. Studies show that high handicap players who get “custom fitted” don’t improve. Save your money. Do a cheap static fitting. Take lessons. That’s the fastest way to improve.
I can’t believe how much u can change the shot shape just by changing shafts/heads. Not 1 single change to the swing! Mayb a fitting is what I nd to sort my driver 🤔
Hi Mike! We shouldn't be backed up at all but I would contact your closest Club Champion, below are the two locations in Minnesota Edina: clubchampion.com/locations/edina Woodbury: clubchampion.com/locations/woodbury
Keep an eye out for our follower fitting contests by following our socials. Ian and Mikey are located in Toronto. Hope to see you in for a future fitting!
People need to know grip colour can affect weight, white grips are heavy, in the midsize he has the white is 8g heavier that the black. Its one point of swing weight for every 5g of grip weight. As Ian said this club is only C8, i would say it would be bck in "normal" driver swing weight of D2/D4 if A: he had the same grip in black and B: the shaft was not shorter than normal. Dont buy random items off the internet if you dont know how to check your choices arnt making big changes.
without watching the video yet, I predict either Titleist or Ping since that's what they always fit and crap on TaylorMade and Callaway, Let's see if I'm right...
