Following a #victorian makeup / beauty routine! Used a bunch of lovely articles to depict what I should (and shouldn't) be putting on my face. This was inspired by my video last year where I transformed myself into a Tim Burton character, and considering most of his films and characters are based off of Victorian England, I figured I'd actually try and be a bit more representative and historically accurate. Obviously, we are not using crushed up beetles or zinc oxide on our faces today BUT with a lovely, modern twist I'm excited to share with you my Victorian beauty routine! Victorian makeup was unique and interesting as "makeup" was seen as taboo to wear, so the women had to disguise their makeup as "no makeup, makeup". It was very abundant that they were wearing makeup but as long as it wasn't over the top, they were good -- anyway lots of fun facts in this video and I hope you spot them all and see how I tried to transform into the ultimate #victorianlady. #victorianstandards All of the products AND sources I used are down below:
