Such a great song. It came out when I was in high school and was played on 92 Wktu in NYC. Still love it. What a voice , what a groove what a bass line.
@Burgandy Glam; @J Wim Memories...I remember this back in '82, it was the first summer after I moved to Brooklyn from CA. Was all over the airwaves...KTU baby!
Fonda Rae excellent classic, very upbeat-one of my favorites over this or any other era! Underrated group indeed, I think. Heard this great song when it came out in 1982!
When I was at Kentucky State U. I was so glad for Wax & the crew from Crooklyn who brought the noise. Fonda Rae, BB&Q, Treacherous Three, Dr Jekyll&Mr Hyde, Taana Gardner, West Street Mob. They knew what to play to get the Greeks steppin.
I'm from Chicago and was into the House Music scene and culture before it was called House. I went to the Marines. I was transfered to a new unit and when I walked into the Barracks, I heard this cut playing. I was like who is playing that House Music. It was a Puerto Rican Brother from NYC. I've loved this cut and Fonda Rae ever since. I was like how did Chicago miss this Gem..
Not sure if this was popular on west coast. But for those of us in southern CT.. loved it! Thank you WBLS and KSS fm of NYC for all the great RB dance, funk tracks of the 80s90s.. thank goodness i brought that FM stero reciver with power antenna..
I'm from STL but I was in Pittsburgh in 1982 this was one of my favorite songs. It never played in STL I would be singing it and people would be like What are you singing? They hated it lol
This is one of my favorite songs. My parents always had the parties at my house n good music was always playing. I’ll be 40 Sat n i only know some song cause they make no sense i know I’m not that old!!!
when my mom told me this was a song I thought she was joking but then I heard it at a party every was singing along and they even had a dance to it I was cracking up laughing but I enjoyed it
I agree. Disco, to some degree, was watered down funk, especially in a time where George Clinton and James Brown were a big deal. Post Disco kinda had an edginess that made it funky but it was still Disco.
