Question...I do have true lactose intolerance but I get hives on my back and get blotchy on my cheeks and forehead when I consume milk or ice cream but not immediately...hours later. What do you think this is about? Thx!

Great question! This sounds like you are also sensitive to one or more of the proteins in milk (ex casein, whey). In that case, you're best off completely avoiding dairy and opting for vegan replacement products as desired.

Are there distinctive symptoms for allergies vs food intolerances? For example, I'll get sneezing and itching reactions to most foods, along with the usual digestive symptoms. Could this still possibly be an intolerance? Great channel.

One of the things not mentioned/introduced here is the autoimmune and antibodies produced post food poisoning that can occur in some. That would have a play on both sides of your diagram. So anti-vinculin is the autoimmune/antibody aspect and anti-CdtB is the antibody aspect. Pretty certain, given their effect on the body, that this could potentially cause both Food Intolerance and Food Sensitivity. I know you've done videos in the past, but would like to hear if there is anything new with that part of post infectious IBS. And also how to best avoid getting food poisoning in general as having had this once your body is more prone to getting activated again and each time it happens it gets worse. And strategies for negating or turning around this autoimmunity. Or how to best recover quickly if you do get food poisoned. While I do my best to avoid it I cannot avoid it 100% as I cannot control all aspects of the foods that I eat.

100%. The autoimmunity of post-infectious IBS makes you more prone to sensitivity reactions and the SIBO that results from PI-IBS makes you more likely to have food intolerances. I'll add these topics to my filming schedule- you're right! I need to do an update. I've worked with a lot of these folks in the last year or two and we have learned a lot!

@@gutmicrobiomequeen Thank you. It's been frustrating trying to get answers about the results of this test. The test tells me that I have it (anti-vinculin for me) yet they cannot seem to tell me what to do about those results. I've directly asked Dr Pimentel, Dr Pimentels research group, my own Doctors and even the company that makes the IBS Smart test. None of them can seem to answer what I do with those results, they either don't reply or my own Drs say they have no idea how to interpret and act upon those results. It's also frustrating in that this test result explains a lot as to why the things I've tried in my past didn't seem to work or seemed to give inconsistent results as it wasn't treating the root cause of my symptoms. At times the pain is so significant I almost pass out. Feels like a knife being twisted in my gut. I think that I've been a lot more careful/better about getting food poisoned again as that particular pain hasn't occurred for a while but it does seem I'm still very sensitive. That and separating out the vicious cycle of anxiety and gut issues due to this functional aspect of what I have makes it difficult to travel and I miss doing that. Especially traveling (by car) to see family that lives a few hundred miles away. At times I wish there was a service that would just knock me out and ship me to where I want to go. LOL

I'm happy too. I've said it before. I'm looking to seek help. I would like to see if I can seek medical help and information through your office. I live in California and would like to know how much I'll need to pay to get my health back. I know now for sure that dairy is extremely bad. I know that I have candida due to the white tongue and issues. I thank you for the information. I plan to call

Hey Ryan! I'm behind on my comment commenting (lol!) so I don't recall if we caught up yet. If not, all the info to book (including pricing) can be found on my website InfinityHolisticHealth.com :)

@@gutmicrobiomequeen yes we did. I even called and do plan to schedule a call with you. See if I'm a good fit. I'm seeing how I could have a problem with dairy. I'm also taking digestive enzymes. It's helping.

@@gutmicrobiomequeen I got dizzy while I was out. I'm hoping it wasn't because of the digestive enzymes.
