The city says the fees are outdated.. so instead of upping them a little bit they up them. $1,000%.. this is why Dr. Phil had an episode about a new civil war in this country
@@presidentcamacho this isn't taxing the rich, this is more of the rich wiggling out of their responsibility, and the middle class once again being taxed out of existence.
That's outrageous. Small buisnesses provide most the jobs in the city. $150 to $900 does not make sense. Understandable for the base minimum fees but the rest going to the city fund is just greedy
I think a fee like that is unreasonable. There should definetly be a standard minimum fees to keep people safe and quality but $900 is overbearing and hurts buisnesses. They aren't rich small buisnesses, it only provides a higher barrier to start a buisness and kills jobs. There should be a middle ground
I doubt anyone associated with the food truck industry will answer, but if there is some meeting I could go to to support the local businesses changing this somehow, Id love to go!
So these fees pay the bills for the city to permit and regulate them? Sounds like we are all getting a tax break then?? It's all BS, we pay high taxes, the city and state need to find some accountability not just more accountants!!
K crazy how they change the laws for small businesses. But they don't change the law for juveniles committing adult crimes !? Think about it! Look it up
You see that's how they do it in America can you play a you can make some money paying $100 for a licensing okay no they get together and say hey let's charge $900 to him and like that it's better now he'll just shut down most likely he's not going to be worth it
No rent control, no price hike control on permits for small businesses, etc. etc. They'll always have a reason and excuse why they are making middle class disappear.
Well, yeah, the city saw how much these people are ripping off customers. They usually charge twelve to fourteen dollars for a simple burger! And they still ask if you want a tip wtf!
Please set up your $1 burger truck at N Domingo Baca Park, we need cheap burgers. Only Prime meat, and I expect real plates and all the condiments like at Fuddruckers. Let us know when we eat.
It’s always been hard to make a living in New Mexico for the average Joe. It’s simple it’s called price gouging the city price gougers it’s permits and the businesses price gouge the public. And the economy keeps heading into poverty , that’s why this state is one of the poorest states in the nation. There is no fair employment in New Mexico.
Mark Dimenna, the man seen in the video representing the people who made this change, seems to actually be a republican based on his social media presence.
@@Nytrolizer Taxes are the fees to use public infrastructure. Permits are the fees to operate in public spaces. Purchasing a new food truck can cost anywhere from $50,000 to $200,000, so how are they not rich? Plus the cost of inventory/materials.
bro we have a food truck for everything now. They had to do it. Everbody and their momma got a truck or a truck with a tent to sell food. Prices arent good either. Cant pay 14 a plate for some basic good. BBQ is worth it though.
Hey everything goes up everything just keeps going up that's great we just got to get more more more more more more more more more more more more more more more greedy and more greedier that's the only fix that everybody in America has Americans have raise the prices no don't make cheap stuff don't make things that people could afford making affordable things
@@WELVAS.The jobs that were added are low paying PT jobs. Full time jobs are at an all-time low. There are more people working 2 or 3 jobs than ever because wages aren't keeping up with inflation. The average salary in Albuquerque is $34K/yr, that's definitely below the poverty line. Biden and the Democrats could add 100,000 new jobs but if the jobs don't pay a living wage then the people aren't realizing any upward social mobility.
@biggiebeats1490 From june 2023 - June 2024, we are up 18,300 NON-AGRICULTURAL jobs. From January of this year to now, we are up around 20k non-agricultural. (This is also from the labor market review stats)
@@biggiebeats1490 I'm going off of the bureau of labor and statics. 16,000 non-farm from last May to this May. In ABQ alone June employment increased by 10,400 non-farm. It's impressive to say the least and a near record.
No. That's Albuquerque dealing with Albuquerque. Ya'll need to fix yourselves and not let the state deal with your delinquent kids and families wrecking the city and stealing.
