Whenever lines in motion releases a new video, I reminded of the exquisite taste they have. The world is so well made and the characters are so well done, I recommend it to everyone who might be interested it from the video.
@@linesinmotionfinally some one is talking about this master piece, i actually compared this with chainsawman when i first read this, its very similar of a start with the protagonist. However the story takes a completely different route, by keeping his protagonist powerless and this conveys a completely different feel
And likewise he also joins an organization similar to denji however he actually gets a huge responsibility and is forced to act formal and gets punished for infractions unlike denji. Far better written than chainsawman imo
Great video!! I’d never heard of this Manga prior to this video ngl, but it looks super interesting. Also really liked the Manga animation in this one. The use of green was really cool 😌
Dude, I get the feeling you'd genuinely love this manga given the previous stuff you like. And thank you! My PC majorly disagreed during the rendering process, however 😭 (also look at you with your fancy little tick next to your name now!)
I was able to read this a few days ago and catched up to the latest chapter and I gotta say, not only is it an interesting story but also a immersive one, there's this sense of melancholy, dread, wonder and hope, that just pulls you in, I highly recommend people to read it as well 👍👍
Haven't watched the entire yet but omg the summer hikaru died!!!! I can't wait to see your thoughts about it. I'm not really into horror but this manga caught my attention. Edit: Omg the editing and animations of this video are gorgeous, I greatly enjoyed it💚
I'd say they're both more visual creepy than anything which might be why some non-horror fans are okay with both series! 🫣 And thank you so much, that means a lot ty!
@@linesinmotion That would explain. Something that also drew me in was how the panels and word placement were used in the manga to create a rather unsettling atmosphere.
This is Like a Dream Come True ❤. I came across this Manga sometime ago and after reading the first Chapter was shocked that I Never hear about this Series Online. And have been Trying to get people into it. Now See One of The Best Manga and Art Essayist Talking about this is Like Unbelievable to me.... You animated and Talked about this beautifully and I look Forward to You covering The other Mangas as well ✌
Oh hey whimsy! When I heard about plants in the video, it reminded me of the other body horror manga I got to know from you called Wild Strawberry. Turns out it's not the same one, and these 2 seems to offer quite different flavors respectively 😅
Out of all the horror media I've consumed over the years, this is probably the most terrifying concept I've come across. Imagine the regret and existential dread of making a decision like that
Totally!! It's such a daunting topic and decision that I find to be totally believable - despite transfloration being far-fetched in regards to reality - but Yasuda does SUCH a good job, that I really connect with the story. Genuinely thinking about what I, or even my friends, would do in this environment.
OMG! I've been craving fool night content since I read it. Hope this manga gains the attention it deserves, the art is so good, the story is catching and full of dilemmas. But, regardless of that, I really admire all the effort we can see on your videos. You editing is amazing. Hope you can come up with more content and those come with their rewards towards you! The best of lucks!
I will just comment, too: Volume 1 of this series will be officially released next year by Viz Media! I had originally started this video in the hopes of recommending it and getting enough people talking about it, so more eyes would be on the series for it to get picked up. And then 3 days after I started the project, it got picked up anyways 😂 So yoi can pre-order it now if it was to your liking!
Another great video! The limited green color palette on the panels looks so good and was totally worth the render time! I can definitely see the CSM level appeal here via Toshirou
instead of csm another work by Fujimoto that's much like this is fire punch end of world humanity trying to survive ahhhh !!! its so good and reminds me of this
This is definitely a manga that I'm going to read. The plot and world sound so interesting. But more importantly, once again your videos immediately catch me from beginning till end. Once when I thought that I got used to your editing of the manga pages, you put out a video that surprises me once again. The added green throughout the whole video is not something I would've thought of and it works so perfectly well to thrive the theme home. Your passion and patience with each of these videos always shows and I am excited every time when I see one in my subscription list. Thank you for making these
(Sorry, only now managing to get through the rest of the comments!) But this is so kind of you to say, honestly! But that's exactly what I was trying to go for, so I'm glad that seemed to work for you guys. It was definitely hard on my PC, so I might not do it to the same extent for all the future manga video - until I get a better PC that is - but I've learnt a lot I can now apply to other videos. Thanks so much again for the nice words!
that's the most interesting and original story I've heard in a long time, and maaaan that editing is on a whole other level, you've totally mastered the craft dani, absolutely beautiful art and animation, can't wait for your next videos.
I thought the exact same! Of course, other manga have been on my radar like Medalist for example, but this manga is the one that interested me the most in regards to plot, because it's so unique! But thank you so much for the kind words, they always encourage me to better myself!
THANK GOOOD IM SO HAPPY SOMEONE IS FINALLY TALKING ABOUT FOOL NIGHT!!! Ive been following this manga for like a year and it's really so beautiful story wise and the art!!! It's just,, i'm not sure how to explain it but it hits in such an emotional and melancholy type of way with a mood I haven't seen captured anywhere else. Thank you for exposing this story to more people because it really doesn't get enough attention and love!!
Im in a bad place right now so the triggers will make me skip this for now. However, I am very intrigued how a story would turn greenery into a key part of its horror other than greenery outright attacking humans. These plants slowly take away humans' identity. Usually a lot of art and media glorify greenery but to see that glorification twisted on it's head is such a refreshing take.
There's a ton of subgenres in horror!! Eco-horror is just one of the very underutilised ones, despite there being a lot of potential there. But thank you very much 😊😊
Ooh, good point! They're pretty similar, but I think punk doesn't equal horror, which I think this story leans into quite a bit. If it didn't have the horror elements, it'd be biopunk all the way!
Absolutely incredible job on this video! Your narration does such a great job at reflecting the atmosphere of the series itself. Perhaps I'm biased as Fool Night is one of my favorite manga, but this might be my favorite video of yours now due to just how well you capture the essence of the manga here. Fantastically done and I really hope this gets some more eyes on the manga. It deserves it. Edit: I completely forgot the mention the use of green! Such a good choice and implementation.
Wow, thank you so much!!! Seeing comments like this (especially quite longer ones too) always makes me smile and encourages me to do the best I can. And I hope more people become aware of this manga, it's too good to not be noticed!!
Thank you for introducing this gem to us. I read the first two already before finishing ur video n I love the story, especially the panelling. It reminds me of Chainsaw man's rough but endearing art n panelling which gives off a cinematic approach portraying a story shot by shot. This makes sense in terms of Chainsaw man mangaka, Tatsuki Fujimoto is a big movie fan in his one shot 'Sayonara Eri' is a good testimony to that as well
Couldn't agree more, which is why I'm surprised there's been a few people saying the art is off-putting to them, it's very similar to Blue Period and CSM, like you said. (Each to their own, I guess!). And yes!!!! I did want to cover Fujimoto's over works for that reason, but there's been way too many videos on that topic now, I doubt I could bring anything new to the table 😅
YESSSS!!! IM SO GLAD TO SEE AFTER GOD ON THE LIST!!! I can't wait to see your video on it. Thank you for highlighting it here, it's really a hidden gem!!!! I haven't heard of this manga in particular so I'll definitely check it out! 😊
Not enough people know about After God either! Feels very much like a cousin to this series, so I'm hoping people will like that video, too! But thank you very much! 😊
i'd plant some dank kush inside of me, at least Okay, but seriously, I don't mess with horror usually (life is terrifying enough), especially psychological, but this sounds really interesting.
Fool Night feels like it's just 1-2 degrees of separation away from a revelatory Squid Game/Parasite-style adaptation. The capitalist realism and art style is really reminiscent of 80s seinen mangaka Yoshihisa Tagami.
YES!!!! IT REALLY DOES!!! Does a great job of showing the oppression nature in regards to social class, and the economic inequalities like those two works. I wasn't familiar with Yoshihisa Tagami's name, but having searched them up, I do get where you're coming from!
your videos are so good and as a content creator myself, I'm genuinely jealous of how great of a content creator/artist you are 😭 but keep up the good work. you are doing a fantastic job! your videos should have millions of views and I'm sure you'll get there.
Thats such a cool concept and i think it's always more digestible in full when manga/comics do those sorts of settings and really DIG into thier characters, causing the reader to ask philosophical questions of themselves and thenworld around them. Very interested to hear your thoughts on Claymore. it's a classic to me and the plight of its characters is SO heavy without getting very complex and I just want happiness for damn near every one of them by the end
Interesting sounding work, time to bookmark it. Odd think was... hearing the premise though it has no relation "King of Thorn" popped into mind. But humans that turn into plants and or are part plants also brings to mind x amount of the clones(?) in Nihei's "Knights of Sidonia". Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Claymore... such a great work been a while since I thought on it.
Can’t tell you how many times I kept coming back to your channel to see if this video had been uploaded ever since you announced it. Guess YT saw my desperation and made this the first thing I saw on my recommended page 😂😅
@@linesinmotion it was so worth the wait. You’re really talented and not only the editing but the scripting and overall presentation! Can’t wait for the rest of the 3 videos in this series!
never expected such psychological manga I read to be beautifully written and presented like this, it is safe to assume that this manga is going to get more traction after your video right
haha, i'm not going to assume my channel is big enough for that kind of impact! 😂 But ig quite a few have said they'll pick it up in the comments, which was my main goal!
FOOL NIGHT IS A MANGA I LONGED FOR SO LONG ever since i finished reading Naoki Urasawa Sensei's esential works. I adore it so much! The concept, the story, the art, the panelings. Maybe, the last title ever doing it for me before it was Tengoku Daimakyou. That got animated recently.
There have been two other videos on Fool Night, but it got a bit of buzz last month because it officially got picked up by Viz media for a physical release, maybe it was that?
@@linesinmotion I think uchuu shelf mentioned it on twitter and some people I've talked to have mentioned liking this one as well I believe, can't quite remember
I love the editing of all of these vids so much, they're always so calming no matter the subject. A real vibe time with realllly cool visuals, I love these vids :D
Incredibly curated video! I honestly can't wait to start reading it, the story and art look really impressive and captivating! Really interested to see how tha pacing of tha panel works when showing more "frames" of the same scene :^)
This Manga actually caught my interest after reading the summary in the back of the manga. I almost bought the volume 1 last day, but I can't decide if this or the manga called "Blame" will I read next. Does this manga have fight scenes? Or can you suggest some dystopian or apocalyptic manga that is set in the present day and has some actions. Maybe something like Berserk but in the present days.
What is absolutely bonkers is that almost everything in the world builded by the author is already a reality in our own, with the exception of the constant night, that enters in play as an allegory for capitalism, intentionally or not. And transfloration of course, as an allegory for the near future where the complete selling or our body, time, and lives, will be more obvious, literal and direct. For anyone who have the slighest interest in modern horror and it's intersection with capitalism, I highly recommend reading Mark Fisher's body of work, especially Ghosts of My Life and Capitalist Realism.
This reminds me a lot of Dukhan, an Islamic pre-apocalypse prophecy in which an asteroid will hit earth and creates a very thick layer of cloud dust in which makes the earth couldn't get any sunlight for 1+ year. The difference is earth will be scorching hot until the cloud thins, technology will be destroyed and humanity will be set back to the age of stones. Lack of oxygen is mentioned, also lack of water and food resources. Suffice to say, I don't think I will read this comic out of actual fear lol
This video is so pleasant to look at despite the messed up stuff described running into my ears, and Green isn't even in my Top 10 favorite colors lol. Ok maybe Top 7, after this... I mean I know green is a soothing color, but it's testament of your composition skills this came out so awesomely. Can't wait for the rest you've planned to put out!
I read the first chapter and wanted to comeback to it,but I forgot its name, glad to see it talked about and that I finally have the mangas name to go back it.I really like the motion graphics used in the video really added visual interest especially the motion comics.
@whimsydearest is another channel that covered it, too! In case you wanted to see another talk about it 🙌 But I can't wait for it to get more popular and reach more folk
You had intrigued with me the premise, then you told me there is more that you haven't even menyioned and that hooked me. The whole communicating with plants is also very Swamp Thing.
I didn't see the whole video as now I want to read it first. The concept sounds so cool! Also an eerie observation for folks here from India, Fool in Hindi means flower. I know its reaching but an amusing observation none the less.
Sorry for ruining your audience retention, clicked of at the beginning to go read it and i will say your videos always amplify the feelings you get when reading the mangas thank you for existing lines in motion
Was wondering when this video would come out, saw your community post from a month ago about it and went right to reading all of fool night. Was a lovely video and I enjoyed reading this niche manga.
haha, thank you for trusting my taste and reading it before I even got the video out - that genuinely always makes me smile when I see comments like that. My manga videos normally take 4-6 weeks to make, just bc the animating is time-consuming, if that gives a better indication for the future, so as to not keep you hanging😂 But thank you very much!
