Wow, this is amazingly well done! This would be great in the context of a story... it leaves it up to your imagination as it is though, which isn't a bad thing.
As i have looked back at all of these shorts this week, i just gain more and more appreciation for them. So much effort and love put into them. Really well done!
Man, Film Riot, you guys have consistently improved and remain one of RU-vid's greatest channels for all things content creation! Been with you guys since 2012!
A fantastically shot action sequence, no shaky cam, no stupid cuts, u should send this to Hollywood just to show them how to do a good action sequence. Honestly this was refreshing and amazing.
Film Riiot!! This short film was amazing. I just had to say that you guys are truly an inspiration to me and, I'm sure, to many other aspiring film-makers and RU-vidrs. I love watching what you do, and you helped me start my own RU-vid channel which I started about a month ago. I am light years away from doing anything close to what you can do, but I won't stop learning and working hard until I make it. I've spent a lot of time studying and working on things I honestly didn't enjoy, but I've found what I love. Thank you for what you do. You have a lot of people watching so keep it up. ~Sincerely, from a goofball :D
The color stands out the most to me in this. I love how the characters stand out from the environment, kept my primary focus on the characters throughout the whole sequence while keeping the whole screen vibrant with shades of green, blue, and orange. I would have liked to see some wider shots considering the scenery, I felt like I couldn't get a full perspective on where the scene was. Well done.
Best thing since LOSSES. Ok, since PROXiMITY. Ok, it's the best thing since UfOhYeah. Ok, since Luts with butts. Wait, that was last week. You guys are just too awesome.
I loved the color, and the camera motion was amazing! The fight scenes were awesome, epic and intense! Amazing actresses! Sound design was top notch and the whole thing was just fantastic overall! Great job!
"honey, I think Mary from down the street might need some help?" "Oh is she fixing the solar panels" "No she just murdered two people and dropped them into our driveway..."
Wow this is one of the best short films I've ever seen. The cinematography was taken to another level, the angles were really well thought out. I really loved the Color Grading of it, and how you matched the Drone Shots very well with the rest of the footage. I myself own a drone and I find it hard to match it with my camera shots, I don't know if you guys did it but it would be awesome to know what you guys did in terms of that. Anyways, this was fantastic. Also, I have to mention the sound design was incredible. Amazing and inspiring.
I think this is fantastic! I personally love the coloring and think the aerial shots are really neat. The pacing is great, and when the first girl flipped onto the ground, I had a physical reaction. Always keep up this awesome work and everything you do on this channel. You never disappoint! p.s. The comments FilmRiot (whoever is writing them) is leaving on some of these threads is giving me life. Love you guys.
Im a supportive fan of stunt-woman Cassandra (NerdzRL) - I was surprised & blown away to see her in this. All 3 girls rocked - and naturally the videographer, fx editor and director and others had a lot to do with the final product - superb work!
Wow. You can tell they were actually trained just by watching this. No quick cutaways to hide the fact that your actors can't fight properly. This kinda stuff is why I know you're going to make a classic some day
Freaking Amazing! The Action is better than in most of Hollywood's recent movies, very kinetic und physical, great sounddesign and choreographies, paired with the gorgeous settig and cinematography. Kudos!
I don't care what the other comments say, this is the best and my all time favorite short film that I have ever seen! I'm looking forward to more like this. Extra note: I love all the naturalistic scenes here.
Wow!!!! This was absolutely AMAZING! Fantastic audio too. I have shown this to my high school video production class. I think that this really inspired them.. :-)
Just scrolled through the comments.. I enjoyed it, but I didn't watch it to critique it, I watched it to experience the action. I watch movies to experience the movie, not judge the acting, camera movements, etc. But, if you have bad writing, it doesn't matter how awesome the rest is, it takes me out of the experience. I liked it.
Bravo dudes!!! Very well done. For the budget I'm sure you guys utilized you pulled a shot by shot equivalent to the big studios. Just goes to show, it's talent, vision, passion and commitment that trumps the big budgets. What can done today is amazing.
I was thinking about the color myself before I saw the comments. Have you considered trying for more radically different styles of color? Maybe you've already done this and I haven't seen it or forgot, but it could be interesting. I know someone ranted about that, but I actually don't have a problem with the color here, it's just I've been getting into non-standard color usages lately.
Loved this! How long did the scene that started at around 0:08 take to do? It seems like a difficult shot due to the danger they face (They're pretty tough.) from running with loose objects on the ground. Did you spot check any on the hill? Thanks!
Awesome job on this guys! Loved the pacing, movement, and fight choreography pulled off in this. I love the unabashedly brutal nature of the fights that aren't completely one sided. Only criticisms for me would be the blur on the falling shot, and that there wasn't any real story or idea of what was happening (although seeing this is titled a short action scene I assume storytelling wasn't completely the point behind this). Hope to see more of these!
Screw the comments.... Ryan... guys... seriously....... WOW!!!!!!! The location, the colour grading (screw what that jealous and clearly unprofessional idiot said).. THIS IS AWESOME!!!!! i mean this is really stepping it up for you guys. The location is amazing, the shots are incredible, the fight scenes are really well co-ordinated and it's gripping throughout. the cinematography here was just epic. The music, the visuals.. everything. the framing kept it all so interesting, and the pacing was just on point. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't lower yourself to the haters. Let them type away, you got grinding to do :) Huge respect - Cieo
