Thank you Lucy! My brothers at uni and has missed his first year due to the pandemic so I think he's just excited to be a proper student 😂 & Amelia just won't stop going on about having her wedding at the house (which i can't wait for either). It's obviously going to be a bit of a change, but we are still only a drive away and to be honest, these days I only see Amelia at the weekend as she works quite long hours... so I don't think it will be that different, though does feel like a big step when you write it down on paper. Would you be interested in her talking about it on camera with me? -G,x

@@mandevillesisters I think it's natural with any transition. Please don't be discouraged! I think it depends what stage people are at in their lives. I'm in the process of buying my first home and previously lived in a woodland so love this transition and it's timed perfectly for my life stage however younger people just might not be into it. Equally you'll appeal to new viewers who weren't as into old content. I also love your podcast and hope it comes back! I think people who like your podcast will likely be more into these videos than your old content so might be worth a mini episode of Growing Old Together. Maybe as an intro to the new season 🤞 😅 x

I think you're 100% right and the new content is very much lifestyle focussed where as the content from 5 years ago was less so. I didn't think of it like that. As for the podcast, this is something we've wanted to do for quite a while now and we think we will kickstart it again once we move. We really struggled with the time it took to set up the mic and then wait for our neighbors to go inside (so we didn't have background sounds) only for Juno to bark at something once we could actually start recording and then the neighbors to come out again 🙈. So the beauty of the new house is there are lots of out buildings where we can perhaps set up the equipment and leave it out so recording an episode doesn't end up taking ages. We just want to be able to spend time doing the bit we actually love (talking) rather than being technicians 😂. But knowing you'd like some more episodes means a lot, it always helps knowing that someone will listen if we do record more! -G,x

@@mandevillesisters yeah i agree with that. i guess maybe people who were inactive subscribers got reminded of your channel (because i think that video got more views as it's a pretty big change) and once they saw Amelia was leaving didn't give you a chance to see what you were doing on your own? if anything i'd say higher engagement is better than loads of subscribers. hopefully in the next few months more new people will find your videos and like them and you'll begin gaining subscribers soon! Also don't be afraid to change your username! Were you thinking of changing it to The Mandevilles? or something else?

When we first thought of the idea I brushed it past Amelia and Pete and understandably they really just wanted a place of their own - and I totally get that. The Arch way is amazing isn't it? We are going to have to put a door or something on it though otherwise we are worried the dogs might find their way onto the road through it.. Pinterest here I come! Basements aren't really a thing unless you're buying an old house as sometimes they used to have larders which have then been turned into some sort of basement room. The house actually has a utility room, so our washing machine/dryer will be inside the house and that basement style room we are hoping to possibly make into a gym. Yes! We are planning to do it once we’ve moved in to the new house - we’d like to have a space where the equipment is set up permanently so we can focus more of the content and less on the set up. The new place has a few outbuildings that could work for this so hopefully sometime then?! We also put most of our stuff in storage when we sold our previous home so currently all podcast equipment is in boxes there. So pleased you’d like more episodes though, it’s all the motivation we need! -G,x
