Wow! Wonder how much he got for this Gem. I still drive a 1988 4x4 Trooper short wheel base here in Ecuador. They are very handy vehicles and still popular.😊
I am searching for an 86 model Trooper myself. Is there a good auto sales website you would recommend or is this something you just happened to stumble upon?
It sold to a guy who just put it on "Bring a Trailer" no reserve, and is bid at $3,500 as of this post. I saw cracking on shock bushings, so that tells me those need to be replaces, and I really dislike the chrome lower panels. No telling WHAT they are hiding, and they just look gawdy. In back they appear to be detached, with a gap between them and the body. I wonder about the heater core, radiator, how well the 4wd works, alternator, starter, water pump, and any other bolt-ons. There's an easy thousand dollars worth of unknowns there. I heard the engine running in another video, on BaT, and it sounded a little ticky, but fine. That's typical for the motor sound. I had an '86 myself, for 7 years. Sold it when I bought a 2nd gen. '98.
