Interesting, up here in the midwest, these were all gone forty years ago... Thanks for your persistence in tracking these classics down... See you in the next one.

Now that's a cool wagon to have. Not to mention all the work that was done underneath to modernize it. Do a little rust repair keep that Sweet patina paint. Then slide in a real nice drivetrain, super nice car to have and drive!!!

Awesome 55 New Yorker Deluxe wagon roller be neat street rod as a kustom or go back original restoration either way it's nice with rolled down tailgate windows too.

It looks like the car used in the opening credits of "One Day At A Time" in the first season. This was a show from the seventies that started Valerie Bertinelli's career.

Whoa Nelley, 1955 and trying to stay alive. We got the VIN, we win: N for New Yorker, 55 for 1955 model year, 2 for Jefferson Ave, Detroit, MI assembly and the rest is the production sequence. Possible code C Desert Sand and code 30 Platinum exterior paint. The seller sounds like a decent person telling it like it is. He's a bit optimistic but seems like he's reasonable on what he wants. Whoa Nelley, New Yorker and without some help, it will turn into a porker. Possibly Desert Sand and without a buyer may turn into a soda can.....

I spent a lot of cash on a 354 Hemi back in the 80's , it had sodium cooled exhaust valves and two four barrels from the factory also heat treated moly pushrods.

Having owned a MoPar with torsion bar suspension, I think a 318 or 360 and a 727 would be a perfect fit.
@sethbarnes7608
@sethbarnes7608 2 года назад
While I generally agree, my issue would be the rarity of this particular example. Had they done it with a standard New Yorker, or a Newport, or Windsor, I'd have been like "hell yeah" The toes In bar suspension was awesome, and the LA, and B/RB engines of course, we're also awesome! One thing I've also always wanted to play around with making performance mods to would be the old "poly" engines. People tend to overlook them, but have you ever really looked at the cylinder head design of these engines? They have exceptional potential to be huge powerhouses in the hands of a good cylinder head guy! Nice big relatively straight ports

And whoever did the job on the chassis did an absolutely amazing job. If you didn't know any better you never be able to tell anything even happened under there

Dam Benny that wagon is a score at that price these days ! 👍 man the with 413 and trans for a grand extra that's really good . 5 grand you got a driver there . 5 grand more for interior stuff and 5 grand more for paint you got 30-40 grand easy in value . maybe put some money in to trim stuff too. Only issue is hooking the torque flight up to that dash shifter ? As its for a 2 speed.
@googleusergp
@googleusergp 2 года назад
This needs a lot more than you think to be road worthy including some custom parts. That is why it got shuffled around in pieces.
@47flx
@47flx 2 года назад
5k for paint and interior?...double that ez all the other stuff too..wiring,windows working ,exhaust system..etcetcetc ..itll be closer to 30-40 K that you have to put in it..

My buddy Mark up in Mohawk NY had (not sure if he still has it) a 55 New Yorker Deluxe 4dr with the Hemi that did run and drive but probably needs to be gone through. Couldn't get five grand for it. Outside was about the same as this car, faded paint, a little rust. Inside the seats were ok, carpet and door panels were all off. Had a 331 Hemi just the engine and that ended up selling local for like $500. It was clean and had been gone through and turned over. 2009 or so that was.
