@@ValunarTonix I'd like to think so. If they can reprint Frostosaurus TWICE (for both Umi Control and Transcendosaurs) and a bunch of level 6 vanilla fusions for Ready Fusion (to be fair, I'm pretty sure one of those was helpful for Beetroopers), reprinting Trident Dragion shouldn't be a big ask. Plus, it's not like Konami makes anything off the secondary market, right?
@@jacobexum9972 not everyone wants to spend that kind of money on a single card, especially trident dragion, if it were s:p, that’d make sense, but dragion is only expensive because it’s never been reprinted, and it’s not exactly a good card outside of this exact deck
I know it a joke, I think I also know no way it would work since Runick made you skip battle phase, however what if you use all your quick play spell during your 1st battle phase I mean I dueled against Runick many times, but 1 time caught me surprise when he keeps summoning many wolf fusions during the Battle phase with Runick spell, I only know 1 wolf, but not other wolf and I don't have time to read (in MD) It cost me a game So it might actually work who know XD
@@widchaponjearaphunt5452it works.. really well actually. They will go second with all engine and hand traps. Than when you make them go first they side in 15 runick spells and side out their going second board breakers
Judging by context, he probably meant "Meta deck." He mentioned a few "rogue" decks wanted to go second, but by their very nature, those are more of an up hill challenge to play with than play against. Obviously, if you're planning on climbing the tournament ladder in a hurry, rogue decks aren't normally a great choice.
@@matthewutech5970 Oh, I know, I just thought it was funny he gave a definitive "No deck wanted to go second before now" before listing... several decks that want to go second.
I have been so confused playing my OTK deck into so many people intentionally picking second, defeats the purpose of having a deck built for going second if I'm only "winning" my own rolls.
@@nicoofthenight8403 That is a good solution, but you have to use it in the Battle Phase and make sure they don't have Transcendent Dragion or Vorpgate ready beforehand
It’s funny. Tenpai is supposed to be the Mahjong deck and when I draw Sanger Summoning it feels like it. A single player game against a big board of things I don’t understand.
No mention of the fact the engine is so small it can run almost every hand trap ever? That seems pretty relevant to me more so then how hard it can overkill.
@nsreturn1365 except most decks still like going first and unless it reaches top deck status you always have ti decide "am I facing snake eye and should go first" since they're both tiny engines that run 15+ handtraps and run bonefire you won't know till it's too late.
@@darkreuchiha1842It's not that great even with the trap. It means you already used up resources they probably removed from you. It also lets them remove the field spell. There is a reason most Tenpai lists I've seen side in like 10 floodgates going first. Even if you avoid getting OTKed yourself, they probably have a bigger board going second than going first, and you have a less consistent OTK yourself because all those floodgates take up draws and you probably used some resources to search stuff like the M1 skip trap. Not to mention they could trip you up by making you go second anyway, and then you draw into your dead floodgates and Traps. The deck isn't bad bad, but it's not super powerful. You also hard lose to other OTK decks like Mikanko and Yubel lol.
@@Meme-pg5tw Don't tell me they play that But it would make sense The dragons, able to burn down forests and therefore destroy our environment play the card representing the failure of mankind itself
All it took is a Field Spell that makes MP1 completely useless. Oh yeah, it makes them unaffected by effects in said Main Phase. Finally, the Battle Phase matters!
Yeah, but the best result ot ever got was with a going first variant (mikanko acid golem). Sure the going second capabikities helped a bunch, but preventing ur oppo from playing carried the deck
Yugioh players explaining why going first is good: "you see we don't have mana" It's also good in all the games with mana 😂 (I know this is way beyond the scope of a short, but all I know is shitpost)
Going first is even good in chess. It is a very hard mechanic to overcome. But Yugioh doesn't need a resource system so long as the banlist is utilized *correctly*. (Spoiler, it isn't)
@@americantimemachine7128 Yes! Or even, like, Connect Four. It doesn't take much. The "defender's advantage" is rarely seen in turn-based games - the implication, that doing things is a risk/mistake and you're zugzwanged from the word go, tends to mean you designed a bad game. "Threats are better than answers", after all.
The other great part about going second is that arguably the best end boss in the game ATM, S:P Little Night, has 1600 ATK and can only chain to a card or effect activation So if your deck natively has a normal summon with more than 1600 ATK, you can out their disruption and possibly their grind game by just normal summoning and entering battle
When your opponent plays solitaire for 15 minutes only for you to break out the spicy bios and golden egg, then your opponent surrenders because they burned through 3/4 of their deck in the first turn and can't do shit any more.
MBT: “Never before has a deck needed the battle phase so much AND been so powerful that it warps the decision making for an entire metagame” Gladiator beasts: 😞
I mean, yeah, but Test Tiger existed, and you went +1 going first back then, so not really the case. If you didn't draw going first then Glad Beasts would've went second though
@@Namor87the deck is essentially staples with tenpai cards in it, you need luck to summon it if they handtrap you thrice or just straight dropping shifter
"Hey, going second is good now for the first time ever.... only with this one specific archetype, and only if you don't count the other specific archetypes that already do that"
I was playing against this deck earlier today and just learned that the quick effects to synchro summon are not hard once per turn. Thats gives them a surprising amount of resilience to negation effects during the battle phase
And I ran into a dude who was playing Tenpai Dragons in the first round of locals last time I attended, using Traptrixes, that wanted to go first. I was beaten more than I would like.
As an ex Aromage and Lunalight player before KoMoney decided to nerf and ban most of them , I always loved going second. .. More cards in hand , more easy to set your field and more time to annoy your opponent. .. Lunalight was so unbalance even Dark Magician deck had no chance
Literally just played these on edopro, o was glued when after he attacked with all his monsters he then synchroed and resummoned his momsters in a cycle till i died
Electromagnetic Turtle or maybe throw in Great Long Nose. Its a Spirit monster that when it does damage to your opponents life points, they have to skip their Battle Phase. But it can't be special summoned so maybe Floo can summon him or idk if a Spirit monster can special summon itself
It’s good for them that they have a field spell that eats a destruction for them since if you want any chance of stopping them you gotta get rid of that field spell
It's crazy how my guy doesn't think about the fact many decks trive for the going second style, like sky striker for example which have such a good time going second with board breaking
I actually have been paying attention to board breakers vs hand traps and I really don't think hand traps even cut it anymore. Just evenly matched or dark ruler them for their life savings
Going second is always been a secret technique that is if you can break any board or it's like going second but first lol I once used a rogue deck with enough going second cards in case I was forced to go second so it was like I went first lol
