This is me, I feel such anxiety when it comes to creating and it really takes the bliss out of creating, creativity and just enjoying the self-care that is journalling. What I enjoy so much about your uploads is they are calm, relaxed and literally use the unexpected items around you, suddenly journalling is a simply peaceful expression of your moments. I have literally given myself a small box of items to journal with daily, even if I only have 15 minutes, and I am enjoying this simplified process. Although my anxiety still surfaces, I 'ride the anxious wave and even journal about my feelings in the moment, it will be interesting to see my progress. Thank you Bri

I am 61 years old and I swear I never had issues with comparing my creativity to others until social media. Don’t get me wrong, I’m hooked on social media but it can also be toxic. I’m sure we all know that. Anyway.,.,.thank you for another lovely and beautiful video.

This video was right on time! I made two beautiful and unique spreads in my journal last week, but I’ve been too chicken to write anything on them...for ALL the reasons you’ve listed! I love the idea of TYPING your thoughts and printing on vellum. BUT, I make it my OWN by WRITING on a separate piece of paper. That way, I can adjust if I have more to say than I originally thought. And I absolutely LOVE the sentence strips bradded together and hanging down!

I like your typing on vellum idea...but I like to WRITE, so I would adapt your idea to my preference. I can’t wait to watch your older videos. you had some COOL and HELPFULsuggestions! I especially liked the idea of cutting out the most important part when my free-writing is long-winded. My perfectionism makes me afraid I'll ruin a decorated page which will soon be pagES. i mean, like,how many entries can one write and rewrite before actually putting it into the journal? Aghh!

I suffer from procrastination due to esteem issues. I write out my thoughts on cheap composition pages and then rewrite them in my more special journals. I have a new computer with no document software…should I use Google docs to make small printed entries? (I’m older, with limited computer knowledge) Thanks for this video, I love your channel!🖌📖✏️

Late catcher-up - this is exactly my problem. I'm sometimes afraid to spoil the page, and no amount of "you can do anything you like, there's no such thing as a mistake" etc helps me. So I really appreciate these simple, practical solutions! (Edit - spotted a grammar mistake, and being a perfectionist....)

How do I tackle my issue ms with feeling like junk journals, which I love, are “messy”? I want to make them but want a more uniform, planned style.

This is a really great question! I think a helpful way is through planning 1. What you want to use your journal for 2.pick out the ephemera that you will primarily use for the journal 3. Research some page layouts and ideas that you would like to repeat I hope this is helpful! This question would make for a great video topic! I’ll try to do it soon. Thanks Vanessa!

Thank you for this video. I love Journaling/ junk journals. I feel like I need to get my thoughts out creatively but I'm so scared of failure. I have to push through the anxiety just to make something small and I have just been working on little covers. I wish I could just let go of the anxiety and just be. i don't know how people cope with that sense of everything has to be perfect or else, i'm just like relax, dude, it’s not a big deal if it’s not "aesthetically pleasing". i think people should stop having such a big expectations and just chill and create. btw, i love those floral stickers, they are really cute.

Hi! I do really want to start journalling and make pretty spreads for me but then I struggle with wanting to make sure everything is straight, every letter I write is even and I tend to rewrite/rip the page because of my handwriting! Even the smallest mistake like writing 'i' in italic makes me so demotivated :(

I just recently found your channel and have been busy binge watching videos. I love the simplicity of your journals. It is easy to fall down the rabbit hole of getting lots of tools and gadgets for creating with paper...I have done that and found anxiety rising each time I entered my craftroom, loaded with so much "stuff", and finding it impossible to create in that environment. I have been purging my creative life from many of these items and so happy to find you and your amazing talent to get me back to relaxing with these simple techniques to make beautiful journals. Great video, thanks, I suffer from trying to be perfect and then it’s hard to start. Love the idea of printing thoughts on paper, vellum or anything that will go through my printer, and adding it to a page. I want to start a garden journal,as I love gardening, I just don’t want it to be dates of when I plant flowers etc. You have given me many ideas in your videos, so thanks again!
