Funny thing is, George Lucas actually made the lightside ending of the first game canon for a while. It wasnt until Disney bought the rights that Starkiller was sent to Legends continuity.
There were levels of canon in legends, G T C S and N. G refers to stuff made by Lucas himself so the original 6 movies, T refers to the clone wars TV show, C refers to the main EU materiel ie. the novels and comics made after 1991, S is comics made prior to 1991, N is non-canon. Games were a little special, story wise they were considered C canon but gameplay wise were often considered non-canon due to some of the ridiculous feats the protag can perform. The novelization gives a better idea of what would be considered canon, at least in terms of Galen Marek's powers.
@@sentientmango3259You said this in a way like your opinion holds any value. Like you're free to think that and many agree but you said it in a way like it holds actual weight.
It really is a shame that star killer isn’t canon, since I really like the idea that Vader unintentionally caused the creation of the rebellion through his apprentice.🐱
He may not be canon to Disney, but he is canon to Legends, which I personally prefer. The thing is, the game is secondary to the novelization in terms of canonicity, so his powers are significantly toned down.
@@EmperorsWrath Honestly fair. Disney have shown time and time again that they're absolutely terrible at writing stories for the Star Wars universe, so with its legacy in mind they absolutely shouldn't be writing it lol.
It's funny how overpowered people rhink Starkiller is but when compared to the Legends Novels and comics he goes from ridiculously powerful to "okay he's really good but it makes some sense since he is the child of two Jedi Knights". Meanwhile we got some of the most well trained and Force Sensitive top tiers like Anakin, Luke, Yoda, Sidious, Revan, and so on. Plus General Grievous survived a planetary bombardment that split the crust open by just being a cyborg.
7:22 In a fight between Starkiller and a group of Ewoks armed with slingshots, Starkiller would obviously win but it will be hell for him. Every time he gets hit, he tumbles to the floor and takes forever to get up. He'll fry them with lightning eventually, but it would be so frustrating, he'd turn to the dark side and go on a rampage that surpasses Anakin's encounter with the Tuskens in Ep 2
Personally, I find the Wii version of the Force Unleashed 2 better than the Xbox version, as weird as that sounds. This is because of a couple factors like not having everything thrown at you in the first level with examples being that the Carbonite/fire-shooting robots only appearing on and after the second level. And abilities like mind trick, for example, which is unlocked on the third level with a cutscene unlike in the xbox version which just has a Stormtrooper jump through a window on the first level.
I've never seen someone suck so much at following the Force Unleashed instructions. It's really obvious what the game wants you to do and Zanny goes "no. the hard way".
That Vader bossfight was so infuriating back in childhood, it was legit impossible to break out of QTE force grabs during the second phase. Seems that they decided to exclude Force Unleashed from cannon after the 2nd game, because it devalues the strength of Darth Vader, which is why you can't canonically defeat him in Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor. Makes sense, he is THE trademark villain of the series, but still.
To be honest, Jedi series are just more grounded but this one is especially fun cause you have so many options to deal with enemies. Throw em around let them catch one another and throw into group of people. Used to play it every day and farm all things in it. Best star wars game of my childhood.
PlayStation for me. I always thought their stunts in the cutscenes were much cooler than the ps3 ones. Like how Vader tears down Kento’s tree house before fighting him in the first level
@@EmperorsWrath there is no such rule for novels being higher in canonicity than games, although I gotta say gameplay mechanics are in S-canon, while the overall story of the game is in C-canon.
@@russianoverkill3715 @russianoverkill3715 That's what I meant to say, the game unique because it is secondary to the novel, not the overall tier system.
I remember when Rogue one was announced and my brother told me it was a movie about how the Rebellion was formed. I was so hype because I thought it was gonna be a movie adaptation of this. (I was like 8 or 9) and my brothers looked at me like the "how do we tell him?" Spongebob meme.
7:06 The stun times in this game are insane, he takes so long to get off the floor and can get stun looped especially in the corner. It’s such a shame because the game’s so good
My favorite thing about when studios adapt games into movies is how accurate they always are to the source material and how they never stray from it whatsoever. Like Halo. I just know that if Disney ever adapted this story they wouldn’t change a single detail about anything. They’re so good about staying true to the source material. I mean just look at how well they adapted Thrawn. I mean we all know nobody likes Starkiller for his character or Sam wittwers performance bringing him to life, or how a small insignificant tool can break away from the system and become a force for good. We only enjoy his character because he yeets Ben Kenobi into an engine and makes Han Solo shoot his best friend. Details that absolutely cannot be changed so help me God Filoni
This game aged a lot better than the original Kotor😂 Granted Kotor came out in the very early 00s and Unleashed came out in 08 so it's not as old. I just started my first Kotor playthrough and it's awesome so far, just gotta get used to that wonky early 00s combat😂
Looked like it was a phase where they wanted you to throw something at Vader, the problem was Zanny kept trying to land next to him so he kept getting picked up.
so everytime i play this when it comes a harder boss mob i just spam lightning and when i run out of force meter i just dodge and run till it fills, always works. Also, is there any other ending besides fighting both? i never knew that haha.
I definitely agree with Zaniel, Force Unleashed isn't as good overall as Survivor, but the combat moves and the possible combos that are doable with them are definitely better to a certain degree.
Not really The force unleashed is the most generic plot for Star Wars Galen Merrack is a Cool character but his story is literally the story of every video game protagonist ever.
More Witcher Danny (if u feel like it Yknow it’s ok) great series tho I’d love to see u get through a lot of it don’t force urself through it though wait till u wanna do it
