Merry Christmas to you as well. I expect to be making videos again in the spring, as you can see in the videos I work outdoors so am waiting for warmer weather. Thanks for watching!
Just found your channel and I am now a new subscriber, I just inherited my late fathers Massey Ferguson 230 and the clutch is frozen and the brakes are to the floor and barley grab if at all, is this a somewhat east fix? I am mechanically inclined (gas motors, race cars and mud trucks and 4x4 monster trucks) but I have never taken a farm tractor apart before, I have changed filters and fluids and belts and holes on it in the past oh and a front tire, is this something that can be done or should I leave it to the professionals, I've watched most of your videos and you pretty much cover the process,
The clutch you will likely have to split the tractor and replace, it sounds like you are pretty handy and comfortable working on things so it shouldn't be too much of a challenge. You can check some of my Massey clutch videos, they are pretty much alike. A 230 should have mechanical drum brakes at the hind wheels. You should be able to adjust the pedals up. If that doesn't correct the problem a set of brake shoes should do it. The front tire wouldn't be difficult but if you are buying a new tire installation is often included in the price. Thanks for watching!
hi dave i have a case international 885xl .i bought it without hydraulics working . i found out that the hydraulic pump gasket was shredded. i changed that and it worked for 10 mins and lost hydraulics again. i had no filter for it when fixed so thought a valve in the MCV was blocked. checked all no dirt in them. i had the new seals and filter just landed today should i do anthing before i put it in or what do you think.
I would think there must be some kind of restriction or blockage to blow out the pump gasket, check the MCV thoroughly for any dirt in the ports etc. and make sure the pickup screen is clean. Thanks for watching!
Hi CR. I messaged you a couple months ago and you recommended Chown for parts. They do not seem to have what I need. Would you have a rotor for the distributor of my 64 B414?
Supposedly you can fish it through the hole in the side of the case where the bracket holds the band, otherwise you will have to take the lift cover off. Thanks for watching!
I can only do videos on what comes in for repair and I haven't had a 4000 with that problem. I did a video recently on a 3000 clutch that would be pretty similar. You will likely need to replace the clutch assuming it's the 2 stage type. Thanks for watching!
