G'day guys, we made this video quickly to show a few tips and pointers on how we fit a new set of pacemaker extractors to a 4V 351 Cleveland engine. Being an XW XY we left the passengers side off until its fitted in the bay. Thanks for watching!

Great tip about the adjustment you have at the head giving you a bit more clearance at the collector flange. I have 4070s (i think) on my XW and I scrape on bloody everything! (doesn't help that it sits on its guts). Man I will be giving my earth locations a wire bruising as well - when putting in my GS dash my 8k Clevo tacho was not happy and only worked properly when earthed to a hose clamp of all places (my cheapo tachs earthed out anywhere though). Replaced all earth straps too so wondering if giving the block a good scrub will do the trick. Cheers boys love your work and these great tips!!

So jealous that you you could do them on the floor. Spent 4.5 hours yesterday fitting the 351c and C4 to dad's car trying to bolt the 1 7/8 - 3" collector long tubes in half way. Had to end up have it sitting on mounts fully and feeding them through. Tightest clearance headers I've fitted in my life haha. Trying to do the bolts up made my look like I caught a mean ass possum bare hands 😂

Shit those are nice !! You guys do an awesome job ! I Love being able to watch someone work on clevos ! I live smack in the middle of Chevy country .... With a clevo in my 72 ranchero - if I ask any questions 'round here I get blank stares - drooling idiots - lol !! Thanks guys keep up the great work !!

I owned a 1972 Mercury Montego, had on it a Weiland Tunnel-Ram, 2 Holley 450cfm carbs, MSD ignition, Hooker Comp Headers. Front oil pan seal leak, took to shop to do upgrade to the cam and pistons. All parts paid in advance. The shop made off with my engine. Never scene or heard from them. Had to get rid of the body. Glad I took the T-Ram and carbs before the job. Miss my 351C.

Gee that’s sad mate, if only you were local we could have sorted you out with something. When I moved recently I threw so much clevo stuff away, even after offering it to mates and no one wanted it.

Fitted a set of 4075s to zh fairlane. Engine already in the car. Had to cut #1 pipe off. Bit tight in there when in the bay.

Yeah i cut down a 14mm spanner just to do up the end bolt on the headers haha no room to swing with the firewall in the way

Could you do a tech talk on choosing the right sized headers for a project? Im replacing the stock headers on my 75 ford ranchero/. Engine is a 351c which has been rebuilt. Choosing the header pipes is a vast abyss. I love all your videos! Thank you so much!

Hi Guys, thanks for the heads up on those pipes. Just wondering, I have a very mild 351 cleveland 2v open chamber. If i were to get a set of 4v heads closed chamber or even 2v with closed chamber and put them on do you know of any typical things that i will run into that will need addressing as I go. Do you think i will see any power gain.

You will definitely get some power gains going to closed chamber but the increased compression can lead to detonation issues. If you want to pm me on Insta or fb I can give you a few tips to modify them at home to have the edge against the dreaded detonation.

Is that a coating of some kind or just paint on them headers?? I notice they are blue? They look beautiful! But im wondering if there coated or just painted???

It is a powder coat that does burn off eventually but lasts a while if fitted without any scratches.

Yes they are ok the adaptor makes the dipstick way over into the pipes but you just chop and weld the dipstick on the lowest straight part to clear

Could you please tell me how much lift a std clevland 302 closed chamber head can take .? I'm trying to pick a cam and don't want to have to mod heads?

Any cam will need the matching springs installed. Stock rockers can handle .540 lift approx depending on duration

Yeah mate the passenger one goes in easy as after wards just the drivers is hard with that rear bolt in the bay.
