hey, thank you, fwiw, if the distributor doesn't spin, it could still be a distributor failure - which just happened to me, which i determined by pulling it out - it was in two pieces. timing gears good! but thanks for the vid!
Yes you are correct I did not mention that point in the video but the last owner already replaced the distributor on this vehicle so that had already been ruled out. But excellent point
Ok so im doing the same thing to my 93 ford f150 the timing gear pulling busted trying to remove it but my marks on crankshaft are not at 12 o,clock more like 6 so my question is can i turn the motor over by hand to line my marks up or what should it do someone told me to take manfold off and and the push rod cover off just to play it safe about the push rods dont get bent idk so comfused about this
Thanks for sharing, I have a 95 f150 4.9 the distributor roll pen broke causing a no fire ,question is i pushed the gear back on by hand appears i just need a roll pen But I believe the gear should have to be pressed on i don't think the roll pen will hold,thinking i need to replace the distributor, your input would help! Yes that is also a no spin condition but we had already checked that off because the last owner had already replaced the distributor and old one was on floor in truck. Thank you for watching . I appreciate all the likes and comments
Actually you don't understand my question, the roll pen was broken causing timing to jump I'm saying I need to replace my distributor, I have a new one on order, Thanks 😊
Take a drill and drill three holes in a triangle pattern on the gear as close to the center as possible (make sure ur puller will still fit as well) and tap threads for 5/16 bolts, then bolt the puller on, it should come right off, mine did anyway
