Man I thought pulling apart an engine was complex. This is something else. No wonder so many shops send off the transmissions else where. Sheesh.

My 6R80 with only 1600 miles on it after a rebuild, flared 300rpm from a 5-6 gear shift. Now, when trying to move forward, it seems like 90% of the line pressure isn't allowing full engagement in D, and the RPM just climbs with very little forward movement. Reverse engages perfectly fine. The car was driving perfect for the first 7 minutes, and then this came out of nowhere. I believe its a solenoid/valve body issue. No codes came up. I am swapping the valve body, bridge and tube seals today.

i really dont mean to be disrespectful but i couldnt figure out how to get the planetary set out because the camera wasnt pointing at what u were doing.

Don't have a camera person so I have to pick somewhere where the camera is enough out of the way to work. To get the planet out there is a snap ring that holds the center support in. Depending on what year your unit is there might be a sprag assembly below that. If there is a sprag there is a clunk spring that needs to be removed from underneath the valve body. After that everything will slide out of the case.

I'm going to knock on wood because I've had mine since new in 2013 and it just turned 217,000 miles and so far so good and the only thing I've done is changed the fluid and filter around 130,00... just curious what does a rebuild run price wise?

Depends on damage and where in the country you are. Probably in high 3- high 5,000.

@@CurmudgeonTransmission wow ...I'm in NC and I'm also a collision tech so I deal with vendors on that aspect of the automotive industry and while my truck isn't giving me any issues but I know it's coming and I just can't bring myself to pay what they want for new trucks so I guess I'll just keep mine going...so I can get a reman from my Ford dealer and list is $3,400.00 and I'll get 22% of that price so what's your thoughts on the remans from Ford? And thank you very much for responding I know time is money.
