I have an 850 exactly like that we just dropped the liners in put the new pistons and rings in no smoke lots of compression lots of power runs great by the way I love the video I love these old Ford tractors wouldn't trade mine for nothing
I decided to put liners in it. Went with a Tisco kit and absolutely nothing has fit right. I finally got the liners in the block and the new pistons don't even fit. The wrist pin bushings didn't fit. It's been a nightmare. I now am reusing the old wrist pin bushings and have to have a shop line hone the sleeves. I should of just used a 3 finger hone and put only new rings in it...
Engineering4life that's the way it goes I never did like those tisco kits sorry to hear you're having bad luck it will be worth it in the end they are great tractors
Walker Outdoors I used to have a high crop version and it was an amazing tractor. I'll get it going but it will be awhile. I'm back in school so expect more videos of our fuel injected Briggs on the Dyno and my Camaro. Thanks for watching and the feedback!!!
Hey Mon Ami ........... I saw your outboard motor on 805 Road King. I haven't watched the series yet but that was very great of you to send him that to redo it.... I subbed you and I also have a 52 Super A Farmall that is in very good shape. We use it all the time on our truck patch ~!~! Plus Tard ..................
the kit should come ready to role in ! Should hot have to bore anything .. I would rebuild that head to for sure it has some leaks in the valves and seals .. Thumbs up man !!
Do it right man. Put some new liners in. You just can hold cylindricality using a home on a drill. Maybe brush up a surface finish or take .001 out to help fit a piston but you are past that on this engine. Give it some love.
I live on a farm and there's no place to split the tractor to take the egine one place and I get other done so with that said if I had to do that work I do anything I can with out splitting the tractor
The bolt in the right hole myth partakes to aluminium heads (threads) as they pull to the thread of the bolt. Stick the wrong one in, and a minor thread difference can screw the pooch. Also, usually it happens on smaller threads than larger ones. The larger it is, the harder it happens (but that might be torque specs).
Wouldn't know about tractor engines, but caterpillar pushers, i've seen a few vids on RU-vid of people pulling them apart and replacing the liners in the "field" without any kind of after service. Ideally, when you purchase the liners, regardless of what anyone says, you should ask the fellas there if their product needs to be machined after installation.
I agree, though after further tear down the liners had considerable pitting and wear from the skirts of the pistons. I ordered the kit and it also comes with valves.
I'm a novice mechanic. I recently bought my dad's 971 diesel. It's been setting for over 20 years and the engine is locked. I'd like to hone and re-ring it but I don't have the engine apart yet. How much damage can I sustain to the sleeves before I have to replaced them?
@@qwertyword thank God your alive. I may know of some cores available. The Fairmont A4 motorcars used them. I know of a ton that went to auction, and who bought most of them.
