This was standard in my 2015 Fusion Titanium. No interfacing with the center stack screen. Hit a button, look for the stop indicator on the drivers dash screen, stop, foot off brake, car did the rest. Years of Boston parking, never an error.
How well does it work parking between 2 cars? How much room did it need to consider a spot usable? From the video, it seems to need way more room than necessary.
I used it a month ago to park between two cars in a spot the car could fit into but would have been a little tricky to do manually. I tried the park assist and it nailed it the first try, I was impressed. I tried to use it again a few weeks ago and it didn't pick up the spot right away and I had traffic behind me, so I bailed and found another spot. I need a little more practice on quickly getting into the menu at the right time when I want to engage the feature.
Ford decided to not put this on the 2023 models anymore. I think its funny that they left the park button still. They also did away with the foot activation for the truck. Nothing was told to me about this when I ordered mine since the 2022 that I was test driving had these features on them and I was told I would have that as well. I had a 2014 Ford Escape that parked itself which was pretty cool. I only used it a couple of times but it was still nice to have. With all that being said, I still love my MME and the way it handles and rides!!!
I believe my 2022 Mach-E has had it the entire time I've owned the car, but I've never tried actually using it until recently. My Mach-E is currently on software version 6.13.0.
Agreed. However, if you're wanting to try out the feature for the first time with nobody around, it can lead to confusion as to why it's not finding a place to park.
fair enough - but I couldn't imagine it not working tbh - I've seen a comparison vid with about 4 other cars about a year to a year and a half ago and it worked flawlessly. Tesla was so bad - really really bad - 2 diff Teslas were used - it made me seriously question how anyone can trust their self drive software when they were getting park assist so massively wrong @@studzstudios
Ford has disabled and removed the feature on 2023 mach-e without any announcement or information if and when it will be brought back. The cars still have the parking assist button but it does nothing. Ford should refund customers for the missing features.
Thanks for the comment, I had not heard about this. This article seems to indicate it was dropped due to supply chain shortages and the hardware could be installed at the dealer at a later date: fordauthority.com/2022/03/2022-ford-mustang-mach-e-drop-active-park-assist-2-0-from-lineup/. The article says customers that paid for the feature and don't receive it will receive a $325 credit.
