I noticed the seatbelt and headrests are fastened to the bulkhead , so no removing that. Every now and then I need to remove mine to fit awkward loads in although mine is a Normal transit

The partical filter is not great if your doing lots of short trips . It's OK if your doing motorway trips . If it breaks its £1000 plus labour. On the diesel .

The Transit custom Mirrors fold in, pull the mirror joystick back towards you on the drivers door.

I have a 67 plate limited spec connect and one problem is that the sunvisors don't cover the whole top of the windscreen they leave a massive gap for the sun to blind you. otherwise excellent van

I took a brand new 120ps l1 limited 6sp out for a spin the other day and the throttle lag from 1st to 2nd gear was horrendous. If i lease one a pedal box might sort it.

P.S. distributie riem is deze week gedaan bij 200 000 km.... Riem is geen probleem maar lagers kunnen soms voor de 240 000 stuk gaan bij veel stadsverkeer.

Anyone considering one of these, be forewarned. I have owned and driven three. The features are wonderful and performance is fairly good. The drive is easy and all the convenience makes you really fall in love. The problem is the transmission.. they are crap. You will be looking at $7500-$8000 and you can actually count on failure. Aside from that, great van.

Don’t want to burst any bubbles, but your Transit Connect is Limited and not Trend, hence the folding mirrors, heated seats and 120bhp engine 🙃

I dont understand how all European vehicles get such good gas mileage. The transit connect that is offered in America comes with a 2.4L that gets 25 mpg highway. Why dont we get the 1.6l option?

Great review. Question if you don't mind. Do you think a baby seat would fit on the smaller middle seat and allow an average person so sit in the other passenger seat? There are three of us including the baby and Wife so want to know if it would be ok if we did need to use all three seats from time to time. Thanks

I've not got one, but i would highly doubt it. I have an earlier Connect and im just imagining it with the split seat, two passengers must be virtually sitting on each other's laps

I’d like to know this also, I’m looking for a little van that can accommodate 8x4 sheets, I don’t need them much only for plasterboarding jobs so don’t want to buy a big van really. I heard the seats can spin round on a certain model and the sheet comes intone cockpit. If anyone has any info on this?

As you did 13000 in 2 years and I think you said your journeys are mostly around town. I would be interested to know if you had any problems with the Dpf becoming blocked or any Dpf warning lights. Thanks

Mine gave me a warning about this on the dash once - something like drive until the particle filter clears. Still don't know if it meant drive cautiously or drive harshly - I did both. After about 10 minutes, the warning disappeared. Presumably, the partials that were blocking the filter were somehow diverted back through the engine to be reburnt? Otherwise, maybe they have been dumped onto the road somewhere?! Either way, 6 months on from that warning I've not had any further warnings and the ford service hasn't picked up on it

Thanks for the review - - but in America we really really need to know if a 4'x8' sheet of plywood will fit . . . . Every review seems to take 10 minutes and skip that detail - - maybe pull out a tape measure and give a few dimensions

It was designed to provide enough space to fit them widthwise, possibly at a slight angle depending on cargo vs. passenger model, but the floor behind the front seats is too short at about 87" in the long wheelbase.

I just sent it back scratch free I paid £300 for chips away to repair everything before I sent it back.

J’ai eu un problème avec le miens de 2020. Après 45’000km, la pompe diesel haute pression a lâché. Résultat, tout le système de carburants a dû être remplacé…quand je dis tout, c’est tout, y compris le réservoir, conduites, pré pompe d’injection, pompe haute pression, rampe d’injection, injecteurs , etc etc… Le renforcement en carbone de la pompe haute pression n’a pas tenu, les micro particules de carbone ont tout bouché. Plus de 7000.- de réparation. Ford a essayé de me faire porter la faute, et disant que j’avais mis de l’essence au lieu du diesel. Au final, la garantie a pris en charge les frais.

How does 39 mpg give one an idea about mileage. It’s only rated as 21-29.

This must be a diesel. In the United states we get a 2.5 gas motor. I average 23 mpg city and about 30 hwy

I’ve noticed people driving these connect vans and the driver always looks like they are sitting down very low, do the seats adjust only a small amount 🤔

We have a few of them, 1.6 75HP, from 2014 drive between 140 000 and 220 000 km, only 'repairs' on the battery and airco condensor. Never let us down and driving a lot in city traffic.

Mine's done approx 40k in 4yrs and apart from brakes and tyres it's not missed a beat. Serviced every 10k by independent however have noticed a clutch judder when moving off Or could be my left leg.

70000 miles on my 2015 plate, and the Ford say it needs a new engine, been told by a mechanic that Peugeot make the engines for the Connect and the Focus. Plastic bottom end. Dont ever buy one, defo not a used one.

Drove a few of them with around 150 000 till just over 200 000 KM They now tell 10 year/240 000 KM could get trouble...not with the belt but with things around... Only need tyres wipers brakes lights and diesel.

Your lucky to be turning it in. They don’t age well. I just finished paying mine off. The driver assist warning light went on and it stopped working. Let’s be clear, all Ford trucks can have this problem. I’d say Ford has a MAJOR problem. Both rear tail light’s developed cracks and the brackets inside started to break. The lights started to leak water on to the driver assist sensors and they failed. Also my rear door stopped opening. The fix for two new tail lights with sensors is $5500. I will never buy a Ford truck. Trim parts in my are starting to crack also. You hardly have any miles on yours so your review is not very relevant. I also do not get anywhere near your mileage but I do have fold down seats for 7. It is the passenger model. This van is no longer being sold in the US after 2023.

they are nice vans, i nearly bought one same spec as yours, but it was more expensive than my renault traffic sport which i couldnt work out, all these vans have 6 gears now, but its a gimmick, they dont need 6 gears if they got the gearing right, i am up and down the gears all the time its a real pain, its a shame all these vans are cheaply made you can tell that by how thin the metal is in them, no wonder people peel the doors back like peeling a banana

Well it was on lease so cost me about £320 a month for the two years, with an initial rental payment of 6 months so approx £2000

320 a month really that’s surprising. I lease 2 custom limiteds from Marshall Cambridge £226 for each one.

Yeah they ripped me off! It was a two year lease and 15000 miles per year which I way over estimated how much mileage I would do... now I’m paying £300 for a top spec custom for a 4 year lease with 10,000 miles, much better.

That was expensive for you and you did less than half the mileage you was allowed. Has your custom not got folding mirrors then my custom limited does.? I got 2 from Marshall 15k per annum 1300 down and 226 monthly with the led load area lights and the inverter for the socket under the handbrake My apprentice had finished college now thinking of getting him a l2 connect and passing his transit courier down to the next lad. Your connect looked nice really liked that colour also.
