I have a 2013 Ford Edge SE, 3.5L FWD, a little over 97k miles, had a recall for the brakes booster, was scary and very dangerous but they fixed it pretty quickly, also had to replace the transmission fluid, was vibrating and shaking, my fault though I think because I had a trailer hitch put on and towed the "largest" U Haul trailer loaded down with it from Denver to S. Florida, runs fine now though with plenty of power and drives and runs like new (knock on wood). I love it!
There’s a lady on RU-vid who put 1 million miles on a 2013 Hyundai Elantra in just 5 years! Hyundai made a special odometer emblem and gave her a free car. If you search 1 million mile Elantra you can see the story! Any maintained vehicle should do 200,000 miles easily and still run great.
I just got a 2016 Edge SEL 3.5 AWD with 146000 KM. It has a clean Carfax with good service history. Transmission was serviced at 105000 KM. Just have to throw in the CarPlay USB HUB and hack the Sync software to version 3.4 with Syn3.
I have a 2013 Edge with the 3.5 v6 non turbo. If I stay under 70 mph I get 29 mpg. It has 138k miles. The normal gremlins have happened. Heater/ac door actuators had to be replaced at 96k. The rear drivers side door lock had to be replaced(the door ajar light stays on and the inside light stays on). Brake light switch had to be replaced. Other than that just the normal maintenance had to be done. Oil Change(full synthetic)every 5000 miles, spark plugs at 102k miles, brake pads replaced at 130k miles. Antifreeze changed every 3 years and use the Ford oem coolant because the water pump replacement is a $2000 job. When you replace the head light bulbs spend the extra money and get the leds. My Edge has been a phenomenal car that will probably get me to 200k but if I had to do it again I would have got a Toyota Highlander.
You never get MPG as advertised… at least that’s been my experience with Ford. Remember when they do these ratings they are in a controlled environment (image a lab) without environmental conditions such as weather, wind, hills etc. The MPG on the sticker is essentially the best case scenario. I would keep up with maintenance. Change coolant & engine oil regularly to try to prolong the water pump & change spark plugs at recommended interval otherwise you will destroy the coil packs. I have 220K miles on my 2008 Ford Edge with no major problems.
My experience with the EcoBoost engines is use full synthetic oil and change sooner than when Ford wants you to… 5k max. Boosted engines are harder on oil due to heat and pressure. Thanks for taking the time to comment and for watching!

It depends on how it was maintained… check any maintenance records and also look at a Carfax. Most of all take it for a test drive and see how you like the way it drives. Thanks for taking the time to comment and for watching.
I would definitely look at a carfax or any records on the service of the vehicle if you can. Test drive it of course and listen to your gut. If it doesn’t feel right find another vehicle. For 10k if it’s in good shape it might be a pretty good deal.
As of today, from what I know it is still running strong. I have heard the 2.0 is a solid engine too. I'd stay away from the 1.5L. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
@@theoverdriveconsumerchanne4424my dad has a ford edge here in the uk, with a 2.0 diesel engine, its a St-line and is in a red colour with all the optional extras, it has lots of problems.( I will mention just not mechanical problems ) 1. Transmission problems, there was a loud jolt when you switched from reverse to drive, the delear sort of fixed it by a software update, but now the throttle response Is like a sponge. 2. Cosmetic problems, the rear upper tailight has broken LED's and it has been replaced one already ( broken again ) the paint on the wheels are peeling off and rusting, ( the wheels are cleaned often with a safe wheel cleaner ) . The leather seats, the leather on the chairs wrinkle so easily, it has been the worst leather ever, creases, cracks and everything. ( note : this is a 2019 edge with 23k miles ) so not alot of milage. The steering wheel, the leather is wearing away and showing some sort of cloth texture underneath. Door seals, the rear bottom door seal where the rear wheel arch is, comes off, you can check it on your also. Mechanical problems ( the first 2 isn't problems but an annoyance ). The brakes and tires, the front and rear brakes and pads had to be replaced at 19k miles, as they were squealing and the discs were destroyed from the worn down pads, the car spends half its time on the highway. The stock perrelli tires that were fitted on the car are utter junk. Replaced at 15k miles. The adblue system is malfunctioning. There is an intermittent check engine light and drive train light. Sometimes the car stalls in traffic and shits down like you've just opened the car door, the rear tailgate spoiler makes contact with the body ( has been fixed after the tailight was replaced ). The car gets serviced ever year at 6k mile interval. There was a engine bracket ( not engine mounts ) that had to be replaced, there was a loud squealing noise coming from the engine when the car was stopped, the delear refused to fix it under warranty untill we threatened them. There are some more cosmetic problems and intirior trims rattling like the centre consel and other things but that's it. The mirrors also make a loud squealing when folding and unfolding.
My 2016 ford edge 3.5 is a shit box, rdu is crap, transmission is crap, water pump is crap, the ptu is made to burn up, god forbid you change bank 1 anything…o2 sensors, manifold you name it. Avoid the car lol
