Haven’t seen a car review like this before and I don’t understand why. The performance thing is fun but this just hits different since it’s so relatable. Traffic sucks but it sucks a lot less if you love your car.
I do a lot of stop and go driving and the best thing about an EV is the efficiency. Wished you would address how much more efficient the 150 is in stop-and-go than at highway speeds.
Just a correction: assuming BlueCruise on the Lightning is like that on the Mach-E, you need to activate BOTH adaptive cruise control AND lane keeping assistance to trigger BlueCruise.
In this video you say that adaptive cruise and bluecruise work right down to a stop and then say that it handles starting and stopping without intervention. When I test drove one, the thing that drove me absolutely batty was the fact that in stop and go traffic it handled the "stop" part perfectly, but it NEVER resumed without intervention.
Just heard that FORD Is Sending out Blue Cruise 1.3 to the MACH "E"?? (and on the New Build's)? Does anyone know if the Folks that have a FORD Vehicle with Blue Cruise and Sync 4 in a 2022 (F-150), and newer, are we all gonna be Left out of this Update?? We still haven't received the 1.2 Update to our 2022 F-150 that we Paid $1995.00 on the Sticker! What's up? Does anyone know? Our 2022 F-150 Is All over the Road, it drifts, don't stay centered, shuts off for no reason.
Just watched a towing comparison. The ICE truck went the distance till the lightning needed to recharge. Went back to start point and refueled. The lightning was 45 mins behind.
Edumunds...where did you get this guy? He's awesome! Great review. I liked the common use perspective given that i've been worried about using this to commute. After having 2 different EV's which i currently don't own, driving my Ram 1500 ecodiesel in commute traffic is not fun.
This why I find all the promotional push of HP and speed by manufactures, dealers and online reviewers / influencers , ridiculous. Most drivers dont realistically have a use or need for 300 + hp and the ability to go from 0 to 60 in under 7 seconds, unless they want it for bragging rights and to rack up traffic tickets. All that HP and speed doesnt help you at all in daily driving.
I own 21 f150 platinum and its happen 3 times if I didn't have my hand on the wheel I would probably got killed by Bluecruise. Bluecruise thought the exit as a straight lane.
This review missing the boat in so many ways when it comes to technology in this truck, and bluecruise. I own a 22 Platinum F150 lightning. Bluecruise hands free mode eye tracking is some of the most invasive eye tracking tech on the market. You cannot look away for more then 5 seconds without the system freaking out. The system cannot be activated in stop and go traffic. What is the point of lane centering system if you cannot enjoy the surroundings while driving though a place like kansas. The system would be better off requiring a hand on teh wheel and removing the eye tracking as whole. Additionally bluecruise is a subscription that expires 3 years after purchase which dealers do not inform you about upon buying the truck. As for tech the UI glitches out, audio studders when doing anything in the UI. Wireless android auto fails 75% of the time, and takes forever to sync with the truck. Add into the fact that the "Powerups" wipe radio presets, and set the radio to AM static each time and you have a truck that promises to be technology forward while tripping on the smallest hurdle to make it half way compelling. When you start to look at the dash things fall apart even more, there is no real guidance as to what object the system is seeing. The mobile app for god sake reminds you to do oil changes on an ev, and is just super slow. This truck from my experience promised a lot, while failing to deliver on every bit of technology.
@@nemesis656 it really is, i never use bluecruise because of it. Ill say all and all I strongly regret my lightning purchase, wish I would have went another direction.
Good review and good format. Although it reminds me what an absolute dump Los Angeles is. I wish that city would burn to the ground and fall into oblivion.
Just a personal suggestion, you can keep talking, but show more of the vehicle… more interested with the vehicle… over 80% of the vid shows you talking only…
The reviewer found the f 150 lighting OK, yet Jim Farley wasn't impressed with the performance, I know people have different opinions but a CEO saying its not good sounds like marketing to the people because they are in damage control
"ballistic grade" seat cooling... huh? I'm pretty sure I understand simple physics but I have no idea how this adjective applies. Is it the new awesome?
