Want to know just how much fun it's possible to have in a ferociously fast small supermini? Then try one of these - Ford's Fiesta ST. It's been developed like a proper performance car - and drives like one, ready to paint a smile upon your face corner after corner. This third generation model has had a light update and the three cylinder 1.5-litre EcoBoost 200PS engine now gets a fraction more torque, but otherwise, the package is much as before, the handling super sharp. Of course, for not much more than the price Ford asks, you can buy more power. But after a drive in one of these, you probably won't want to.

Great review thank you, ordered my ST 3 back in March last year, word on the street says I should see it sometime in the next few weeks. Same Mean Green colour as you're driving. The Hyundai i20N was never an option being 20% more expensive . I'm in the South Island of NZ. Only a few coming this way I'm told. Just coming into Autumn here though it was 30C today, how the weather is changing. Thinking about taking it for a squirt down to Queenstown with my wife for a couple of nights when it arrives, about a 5 hour trip. Just running it in gently mind. Great roads and fantastic scenery.

Excellent review, I ordered the previous ST3 model in March 2021, to which I added Full LED headlights and a spacesaver spare wheel. Then Covid kicked in, plus production delays, fast forward to July 2022 and the new, but as originally ordered 3 door model arrived, Ford had included the options that had been standard on the 2021 model, B&O sound system, winter pack & spacesaver wheel. A fantastic result well worth the wait.

A good summing up and one that I agree with entirely. When it comes to the fun factor, this is easily the closest I've found to my old 205GTI. If I could only have one car this would certainly be in the running as my choice. It's also good value, in my opinion.

In most cases now you can’t order the B&O. I ordered my ST3 in November & within 3 hours of ordering it I was informed that the B&O was out due to low inventory. The only two options that weren’t paint were the winter pack & Sync 3. Love the B&O in my current Fiesta. So many features in my current car not available on the ST3 which is bad considering it is the Premium model.

@@74aamer it looks more like it you ordered from Ford direct you got the B&O, if you ordered like I did through Arnold Clark Ford you didn’t. Likely because unbeknownst to the punter at that point, Arnold Clarke had terminated their partnership with Ford. Which is why customers will now be getting letters from Ford informing them that Arnold Clark will only be an authorised repairer. Of course Ford would always prioritise their own direct customers & dealers remaining in partnership over a partner that had ended its relationship.

It's a shame to see this legendary hot hatch go. I now have a Puma ST with performance pack and whilst it's not quite as exciting to drive, it's not far off !!
